irAmAnusa nORRu anthAthi-001; Part 11 - " Mind is a good friend "

Dear bAgawathAs,

They (nitya Suris and mukthArs) offer no help to Sri thiru

arangatthu amuthanAr as a company or of that sort in his effort to

seek AcvhAryA thiruvadi sAmeebyam. Those samsAris of boolOgam are

conducting themselves as annyAnis (due to their karma). They

always do eat, dress-up nicely, enjoy their neerk kumizhi vAzhkkai

(ie life is similar to a bubble in the water and these samsAris

think it is permanent and are only focussing on enojoying it every

day). (in Tamil such life of samsAris is addressed as " UndiyE

udaiyE uganthOdum im aNdam ellAm.. " ). They always look outside of

themselves and never introspect. ie., They give lot of importance

to their senses and their perceptions from external happenings and

derive temporary pleasure from such. So they are plunged into such

vishyAntharam and are not able to even look at leelA vibhuthi.

Sri AmuthanAr also looked for help from the parama shishyALs and

bAgawathAs of Sri emperumAnAr who are " nyAnis " it seems(**). Those

shishyALs have already attained the sambhandam of Sri emperumAnAr

and are known as " parama bOgyam AnavargaL " . However, it seems they

are all so much immersed into the thiruk kalyAna gunAs of Sri

irAmAnusar. It seems they are fully submerged into the depth

and they are themselves gulping to breath and are drowning

themselves slowly in the thiruk kalyAna gunAs of Sri emperumAnAr.

So they are unable to help him give company either.

Since all these 4 different groups of people are of no help to Sri

thiru arangatthu amuthanAr he wanted to seek for help and company

from somewhere else. He found that there was a company already

available in him and as well as inside everyone. ie., Each one's

manasu or mind or heart is the true friend in one's suffering,

pleasure, " dhukkam " (grief) & joy. So it seems he chose to seek the

company and help of his manasu in his endeavour to get the

sAmeebyam of AchArya thiruvadi.

(Pasuram 1 will continue .....)

note:(*) - Please read " AchArya Vaibhavam " , by U.Ve. Sri Purisai

krishnamAchAriar published by Sri VisishtAdhvaidha Research Centre,

Dr. Rangachari Road, Mylapore, Madras -600004. This book gives

many details of Sri RAmAnujar's life history from which one may

understand as to how thoroughly his adiyArs were immersed in the

thiruk kalyAna gunAs of Sri rAmAnujar. Sri K. Ramaswamy has kindly

agreed to write the " AchAryA vaibhavam " from this book, soon.

(**) - They are called as " nyAnis " , because they have the pari poorana

nyAnam from understanding the thiruk kalyAna gunAs of Sri

irAmAnusar.
