Guest guest
SrI: SrI Lakshminrusimha ParabrahmaNE namaha SrI Lakshminrusimha divya pAdukA sEvaka SrIvaN SaThakOpa- SrI nArAyaNa yateendra mahAdESikAya namaha Dear Bhaktas, adiyEn will be starting a series on the ' bhagavad dhyAna sopAnam' of our illustrious acharya, Swami Vedantha Desika. This great sanskrit hymnal of our acharya is very much a kin to ' amalanAthipirAn ' of thirupan-alwar. The series on 'amalanAthipirAn' is beign posted by Sri Venkateshan Ananth in the bhakti-list. 'bhagavad dhyAna sopAnam' is an integral part of Sri Vaishnava stotra literature. 'sopAnam' littreally translates to the english equivalency of 'Ladder'. In this case, leads the chanter on to the resplendent crown of Lord ranganAthA from the lord's feet. The penultimate slokA gives the chanter a glimpse of the majestic form, of commanding stature, of namperumal also. This hymnal is composed of 12 sparkling sanskrit slokAs. adiyEen will be posting 3 slokAs in a week and hope to complete the series by the End of september. Both pieces of work enjoy the exquisite charm of the lord,in repose at bhU-lOka vaikuntam ( Sri Rangam). thirupan-alwar halted by the golden charm of the lord's eyes, could not proceed further upto the crown of the lord. This ladder ( sopAnam) has taken acharya Vedantha Desika furhter upto the crown. ( This will be dealt in detail in slokA 9) Actually, this hymnal could have been named ' ranga-rAja dhyAna sopAnam'. And yet it has been named by acharya vedantha desika, a doyen of massive learning and high intellect, as 'bhagavad dhyAna sopAnam'. Why? The term - 'bhagavAn', denotes none but the lord sriman nArayanA, - ' Aum nArayanAya vidhmahE vAsudevAya dImahi, tannO vishnU prajOdayAt (Refer Sri Vishnu PurAna ( 4 - 5 - 76 ) for sage prasArA's elucidation and connotation of the word ' bhagavAn' aDiyEn sri mAlola narasimha dAsan, Malolan Cadambi Talk to your friends online with Messenger. http://im.
