Guest guest
Sri: Sri Lakshmi nrisimha parabrahmaNE nama: Sri Lakshmi nrisimha divya paduka sevaka srivan satakopa sri narayana yatindra mahadesikaya nama: What follows is from Srimad Rahasya thraiyasara vivaraNam by Srimad Azhagiya Singar, Sri Ahobila Muth publication, 1998. pp. 271 - 281 (Tatvatraiya Chintana AdhikAram). In pp. 280 and 281, Srimad Azhagiya Singar explains, " shvedAshvadaropanishad states, 'angushtamAtra: purushontarAtmA sadA janAnAm hridaye sannivista:' (The Lord who is all pervading **always** (sadA) dwells in the heart of humans (janAnAm) taking a dhivya mangala vighraha form in the size of a thumb.) Thus, we refute the position that the Lord in HArtha form exists only at the time of Upasanam. In page 271 - 273 Srimad Azhagiya Singar explains the actual form of Antharyami roopam of Emperuman. " nIlato yadamadhyasthA vidyullekheva bhAsvarA | nIvArashUkavat tanvI bItAbhA SyAt tanUpamA | taSyA shikhAyA madye paramAtmA vyavaSthita: " At the center of the heart there is a fire called " jAdarAgni " . In the middle of it there is a ray (jwalai). Its end is very small in the shape of " nIvAram " a grain that grows in the wild, its shape is like wheat. In the middle of this ray-end (agni sikhai) Emperuman dwells with a dark hued thirumEni. The analogy here is like a cloud surrounded by lightening. This is non-existent, i.e. lightening will always be inside the cloud, not the other way around. But the Upandihad uses this analogy that does not exist, i.e. abhUdOpamai. Emperuman in dark hues thirumeni is in the middle of a ray of fire; this is like a dark cloud that is surrounded by lightening on all four sides. There some more interpretations for this passage. One of the best among these is the one shown by Sri Bhashyakarar. In the above passage, vahnisikhA, i.e. agni's sikhai, refers to Mahalakshmi. She shines with " nIlatoyada madhya " the dark-cloud-like Emperuman in the middle. That is, the lightening (Mahalakshmi) originates only in the middle of the cloud (Emperuman), but the lightening ends up engulfing the cloud with its brilliance. Thus the cloud is in the middle of the lightening. In page 278, Srimad Azhagiya Singar explains the form of Emperuman's Antharyami roopam: " The forms of ArcA moorties are easily determined by the explicit statements that say that the Archa moorty will resemble any one of the Para, Vyuha, Vibhava avathaaras. However, there is no such clear statement with respect to Hartha-roopam. Relying upon the texts of poorvacaryas it is proper to conclude that the Harta-roopam will resemble the Para form which is the origin for all avatharas. Thus, as Paravasudevan dwells in Sri Vaikundam, Emperuman exists in the heart of everyone, in antharyami-avatharam, in the seated position upon ThiruvanandAzhvaan, with the left divine feet hanging down, right divine feet folded, right divine hand upon right knee, left divine hand upon adishesha, two hands in the back with Shanku and Cakram respectively, and in the size of our thumb.
