Following the moderator's instructions I am posting a brief self-introduction: My name is Sudarshan K. Madabushi. I live and work in Kuwait. I have strong family roots in Tirupati through my father's side; and through the maternal side, in Kanchipuram. It is a matter of secret but pardonable personal pride for me that my parentage can be traced to the sacred soil of 2 prime SriVaishnava 'kshEtram-s'. Following my family tradition, I consider myself fortunate to belong to the " sishya-paramparai " of the Ahobila Muttam. The present Jeer Swami was kind enough to embrace me into the Ahobila Muttam fold through 'samAshrayanam' which he commanded me to undergo. Except for that Act of Grace which Azhagiyasingar in all kindness bestowed upon me (without a moment's thought to whether I was deserving of it or not) I'm sure I possess no other " lakshana " befitting a Muttam 'sishya'. I have an abiding layman's interest in the colourful history, literature, personalites and living traditions of all schools of Vedantic thought and practice in India. It is my firm belief that all great 'achAryA-s' of our homeland, each in his own unique way, had something truly very ennobling to say about and contributed something very valuable to our understanding of what is truly un-understandable ..... 'sarvEshwaran', the Almighty One. The life and works of Ramanuja and Vedanta Desika, of course, are a matter of special interest and unfading inspiration in my life. I wish to learn more from learned members of this group... young, old and not-so-old alike. Many thanks to the moderators for enrolling me as a r.
