Guest guest
Dear bhaktas: Following SrI anand karaLapakkam's note about introductions and the possibility of some people being distantly related, aDiyEn would like to write a brief introduction. It will be my great pleasure if I were to " discover " remote family links in this way. Personal: name - Srinath Srinivasan Chakravarty; age - 30 years married, spouse - Pavitra; present location - Dallas TX U.S.A.; gotram - Srivatsa; achArya paramparai - originally from the thirumalai nallaan clan of the 74 simhAsanAdipathis; Vadagalai. Background: adiyEn family belongs to Karnataka state, and is part of the " keezhnADu " group - those that (ostensibly) have ties with Srivaishnavas south of Mysore country. My mother's side of the family is kOmaNDoor eLayavalli koushIka gothram, whose ancestors were invited by an Anandarao Mudhaliar of Srirangapatna to move from kOmaNDoor in order to manage the temple of lord ranganAthar. My father's ancestry is hOsUr thirumalai nallaan chakravarthi, with relatives from Mysore, Lakshmipuram (kuppam), kEthANdapatti, and thoRapaLLi (birthplace of C. Rajagopalachari). AdiyEn's ancestor, hOsUr Chakravarthi Venkatachar was an AsthAna vidwAn at the court of the Mysore maharaja and was given the title of dharmAdhikAri. GuruparamparA: aDiyEn's maternal family have (since 5 generations of leaving kOmandUr) been parakAlamutt shishyALs, although recently some members have had bharaNyAsam from Periya Andavan Swami. On my father's side, my thaattha was the last one to undergo panchasamskAra in his swayamAchAryam. In his later years he sought prapatti under Srimad mukkoor Azhagiyasingar (44th. pattam, Sri Ahobila mutt). At that time, his son and daughterinlaw (my parents) were also initiated into samAsrayaNam by the grace of Sri mukkoor Azhagiyasingar. Thus even though aDiyEn has not yet had samAsrayaNam, aDiyEn feels closely connected with this great institution of Ahobilamutt. I will greatly appreciate it if any members of this malolan net who may have family connections to Mysore or northern Tamilnadu (hOsUr) can write about their ancestry in these areas. I'm very happy to be part of malolan net, and hope to learn more and more about rAmanuja sampradAyam through this unique forum. aDiyEn, -Srinath C. email: xsrinath
