[The pundit, the idiot and Parashara Bhattar- a few thoughts]

Dear Members of SrI MAlOlan Net,

 

The purport of the series titled " The pundit, the idiot and

Parashara Bhattar " has been brought out in an appreciable manner by

SrI Anand. I thank him very much regarding the same. The manner in

which he has ascertained " pundit " in his mail is exact.

 

I have a small request. When someone is presenting such

" ithIham " also, he/she may quote the original verses of our

pUrva-AchAryas appropriate to the context. For example, the

series " The pundit, the idiot and Parashara Bhattar " has few other

versions also. Unless and until such things are substantiated

with such quotes, it is difficult to ascertain the purport.

 

Also, while quoting from other sampradAyas, care should be taken

to present it such that it does not leave room to any doubt. For

example the series " The pundit, the idiot and Parashara Bhattar "

had a reference to bhaja-gOvindam of SrI Adi Sankara. The usage

of the term " devotion " , " pundit " etc with reference to it were not

clear.

 

These are only my suggestions. No counter-arugment is made in this

mail.
