As a member of Sri malolan net, I request the moderator(s)

to publish a list of the monitoring committee members, and

the detailed rules and regulations governing the posting of

articles to this list. If this information has been provided

earlier then I apologize for the inconvenience and request

a repost or URL where I can view the same. Lastly, it would

greatly help all members to be informed about the origin of

malolan net, its founders, who the present decision-makers

are, a description of their qualifications/credentials, and

if possible, an explanation of how people are elected to

be on this committee and for what duration etc.

to acquaint our members of how our Sri Malola Paduka Sevaka

Net is managed.

It is probably a good idea for members to take a

look at the rules one more time. We do take the

rules seriously.

Sri Malola Padhuka Sevaka Net was created two years ago.

The objectives of the net are stated in the above URL.

It was founded by a group of us consisting of adiyEn,

Jagan Bharadwaj, Sampath Rengarajan and Anand Karalappakkam.

The rules were initially developed by the four of us and

was further refined and approved by the Board of Sri Ahobila

Muth. The Membership committee was originally formed ad hoc

and approved by the board. The Membership Committe is not

elected, but appointed. There is no fixed duration either,

i.e. the present decision makers are the members of the

Membership committee and adiyEn as adminstrator.

 

There are basically two types of issues that come up.

One is membership and the other is posts. If a r

meets all the prerequistes adiyEn will go ahead and

include him/her as a member. If there is any question,

then adiyEn will forward the request to the committee

to decide. The most frequent issue that comes up is

sponsorship by an existing member.

 

As far as posts are concerned, we sometimes receive

requests for action from members. Or, one of the

committee members may bring it up on his own. Then,

the committee discusses the merits of the case. In

the capacity of administrator of the net adiyEn also

participates in the discussions. But adiyEn does not

vote on the issue. However, the committee does take

adiyEn's view into consideration. In most instances

a consensus is developed and the decision is communicated

to the individual in question and if appropriate the

membership as well.

 

If anyone is interested in serving in the committee

please let me know and adiyEn can submit the request

to the executive committee of Sri Ahobila Muth.
