ChillaRai Rahasyams of Swamy Desikan : Part III

Dear BhakthAs of Swamy Desikan :

 

AdiyEn would like to start the series with a recall of

Sri Hari's statement (Quoted Below) in the context of

the initiation of his Kaimkaryam regarding the postings

on Desika Prabhandhams . Both of us have agreed

to introduce these Sri Sookthis of Swamy Desikan ,

while revering the age old tradition of leaving

the rahasyArthams to be learnt under the sacred feet of

an AchAryan in the traditional KaalakshEpam format.

These postings will be limited to Malolan Net .

 

The overarching purpose of these postings by us is to

give the readers a feeling for the greatnes of

these Sri Sookthis , while not getting involved with

the rahasyArthams that are elaborated on by Swamy

Desikan in the body of his Sri Kosams. Even at the risk of

appearing sketchy in my postings , adiyEn will walk

a tight line between the appreciation of the granthams

and the elaboration on the esoteric meanings of

the passages that need to be learnt only in private sessions

with one's own AchAryAs. Here is what Sri Hari observed in

the context of coverage of these Sri Sookthis :

 

>The aim of these series is to present portions from Swamy Desika's

>SrI sUkthIs with simple English commentaries based on our Aacharya's

>commentaries. The " Rahasya-arthams " (traditional secret meanings of

>the Rahasya-traya) will NOT be presented but it will be only outlined

>as per the SAstra-limits. Only non-rahasya grantams will be explained.

>With an aim of learning and enjoying our Swami DESika's SrI sUkthIs,

>the series is initiated.

 

> Many works of Swami Desika will be introduced and

>an outline of the same will be presented. The articles shall

>have the single theme of stressing Visistadvaita Shree Vaishnava

>philosophy and practice as " THE Philosophy and Practice " ,

>which is parama-vaidikam, flawless,rational and universal.

 

>Your suggestions and comments are always welcome. With the full

>guidance from a SrI VasihNava AachArya, doing traditional

>kAlakshEpam of these grantas will help a person to know these

>grantas in detail.

 

With this introduction and statement on the scope ,

adiyEn will start the coverage of the individual ChillaRai

RahasyngaLs from the next posting .
