Periya Thirumozhi 11.6- Oh fools who do not know this graceful Lord Sriya Pathi!

SrImathE Gopaladesika Mahadesikaya Namah:

Dearest Sisters and Brothers,

 

AzhwAr having enjoyed the Parathvam and Sowlabhyam of SarvEshwaran (in last

ten), wants to let everyone (of us) on this earth enjoy along with him. On

the contrary, he sees them paying obeisance to demi gods and others, who

have births and deaths similar to their own. He advises them of the

Primordial Chief Sriman Narayanan’s unparalleled, unsurpassed Supremacy and

tells them “There is no difference between you and the demigods whom you all

worship. Here is SarvEshwaran who protects and saves all including those

demigods.” Let us also get the correct jnAnam from AzhwAr.

 

1. Oh folks, who have considered themselves as slaves of those demigods who

are not capable of saving you at all! When the entire universe was submerged

by troubled waters of oceans, during dissolution, (mahApraLayam), the world,

Devas, we, human beings were all in the state of being in the stomach of

Emperumaan who has the Divine ChakrA in his Hand. You all do not know that.

You are praising the thAmasa devathAs (the demigods who are in the mode of

darkness); What good you think they have done to you and you praise them?

You do not even remember the great deed SarvEshwaran did to us, during

praLayam and saved us. Praise Him dear.

 

2. When the great floods engulfed the whole universe, flowing even beyond

the space, SarvEshwaran saved us.. Don’t we know that? The Devas came out

after the dissolution, when he spat them out. They are “ecchil dEvar”. Is

there anyone who is not touched by His saliva? The whole universe survives

because of the grace of this Emperumaan. Why do you not know that?

 

3. the manner in which the fore headed eyed Sivan, Chathur mukha BrahmA

(four faced) who recites the meaningful Vedas, DevEndran, who has white

AirAvatham, the elephant of long trunk, and all other Devas, were saved

during mahApraLayam, is: Emperumaan Sriya: Pathi Sriman Narayanan retained

them all in His stomach and protected. Without praising the kalyANa guNAs of

this Emperumaan of most auspicious attributes, One who has the most Divine

ChakrA in his resplendent Hand, it is a wonder that these folks stay out

here like this (praising demi gods)!

 

4. When the cool, vast waves of the oceans expanded into the whole BhUmi

(Universe), engulfing it, “There is no rakshakan for this universe”- said

Emperumaan and He immediately retained you all in His stomach and saved you.

He is the Chief of those with sathva guNAs (Nithyasooris); He is of the most

beautiful form like the ripened fruit (kaLAm pazham); Alas! Oh no!. Why have

you not learnt and realized to pay obeisance to HIM ALONE?

 

5. None could have comprehended the stay they had in the Divine stomach of

Emperumaan when there was mahApraLayam engulfing the whole universe. Oh

fools, who do not know this graceful, merciful deed of Emperumaan! Had you

all known or realized this, you would have talked only the Divine names of

this SarvEshwaran; the Chief of Nithyasooris; the One who measured the whole

universe in one step; the Greatest unparalleled Lord. (Now that you are not

talking His names, you are fools only.)

 

6. When there could not have been a possibility of any human survival at all

when there was huge troubled waters everywhere, Emperumaan like the most

loving caring mother (who has given birth to a child after lot of penance)

saved you with such affection, and concern in all motherly affection,

retaining you in His stomach. Oh fools, ignoramuses, making Him get terribly

upset for turning ablind eye to such parama krupALu and for looking at and

praising those demigods (who are like you – yet another JivaAthma)! When

there is a mother, who had troubled so much to give birth to such a child

like you, and who needs to be taken care of and needs to be praised and

worshipped, instead of her, you are taking a great care of that nonliving

“achit” wooden plank (demigods) as if it is your mother by bathing the same

with warm waters! Why are you doing such an act?

 

7. BhUlOkam, DevalOkam, Devas, asurAs, and everyone else even together could

not stop the troubled waters during mahApraLayam, He saved them by not

letting them submerged in the praLayam. The days I do not think of these

human beings who never meditate on and adorn their heads with the Lotus Feet

of such most merciful, Parama dhayALu, most compassionate Emperumaan,

SarvEshwaran, the Lord of ThirukkaNNamangai, are the sweetest days for me.

 

8. When the cruel dark ocean waters with sweift speed, submerged everything

and expanded beyond the Universe, Emperuman, whose nature is only saving

protecting the seven worlds at all times, retained them in His Divine

stomach and protected you. Those who do not think of this Greatest Lord, who

saves us at all times, are utterly lowly souls.

 

9. When the great walls of the Universe got submerged and there was waters

everywhere, Devas and Rishis went surrendered to Him, the SarvEshwaran, who

in turn retained the seven worlds, in His stomach and saved every being and

non being with parama krupai. He has that resplendent benevolent Hand like

that dark cloud. He is of the colour like the beautiful shining gemstone.

Dance and sing on the glories of Thirukkudanthai. Where this Lord resides

permanently.

 

10. Devas, asurAs, the directions, the oceans, and everything else were

swallowed by SarvEshwaran during mahApraLayam without leaving anything

untouched, and then he spat all out after the dissolution. Such merciful

deed of His, has been composed by the king of Thirumangai. Those who can

recite and learn the meaning of this ten (that is very IMPORTANT), will be

blessed to receive the Divine Grace of Periya PiraaTTi MahAlakshmi and

reside in Paramapadham (SrIvaikuNTam)
