Dear Sri Bhagavathothamas,

Dasoasmi.Adien had the bhagyam of under going the Grantha chathushtaya

kalakshepams under the holy feet of SRi Thirukkallam Narasimha Raghavacharya

Swamy way back in the 70's for seven years.Our Sri Bhashya Kalakshepa

Sathumurai valedictory

address was done by none other than the prakrutham Azhagiya Singar in His

poorvasramam,who was specially requested by Sri Thirukkallam Swamy to grace

the function and give his benediction.Incidentally both underwent

Kalakshepams under the holy feet of The Great Injimedu Azhagiya Singar(42nd

Jeer of the Ahobila Math),great friends and had great mutual respect for

each other. This was another blessings.It may not be out of place to mention

some of the sterling qualities of Sri Thirukkallam Swamy here.He was the

embodiment of compassion,humility,sincerety,simplicity and punctuality.The

duration of kalakshepam was invariably from 7AM to 8AM.He would be there at

the Vyasapeetam 5 minutes in advance.He was a stickler to discipline and

never digressed from the subject in which he was delivering the lectures.He

never used to hurt others,a Mrudhubashi. Geetha Bhashya and

SrimathRahasyathraya Kalakshepams were simply scintillating and he used to

give special Gita lectures in the Dhanur masams in the evenings and one has

to witness the multitudes that turn up to hear and admire him.It was a pity

that this Great Swamy's life on this earth was short,he was only 58years

old, and it looked as though his kainkaryams were required more at the

Paramapadam and departed on a Deepavali day from this Leela Vibhuthi to

Nithya Vibhuthi.It was distinctly a misfortune to our Great

Sathsampradhayam.

He was honoured with gold medal by the president of india for his erudition

in Sanskrit.He was made the Asthana Vidwan of Sri Ahobhila mutt by the 44th

Jeer and conferred the title " SAara SAaragna " .He was the editor of the

Nrisimha Priya for 15 years. It is very thoughtful and appropriate to pay

our gratitude to him and to celebrate the platinum jubilee Thirunakshathram

of one of the Illustrious Great Savants of the last century of our Great

Sathsampradaya.

The Platinum Jubilee ,75th birth anniversary ,celebrations commenced on the

10th dec. with Veda,Grantha Chathushtaya Parayanas and culminated with

Sathumurai on the 14th dec. the day of his Thirunakshathram.The celebrations

were held at Desika Vidya Bhavanam in Mylapore at Chennai,presided by Sri

U.Ve.Purisai Krishnamacharya Swamy.

This posting is only an attempt to express adien's gratitude to one of the

great Mahans of our times.
