Namaskarams to all the members

A " dharma sandeham " has cropped up in my mind as a result of our

family's recent move. Due to the anugraham of our acharyas and Perumal, I

was able to convert the library of our new

home into a puja griham. I do my sandhya vandanams in the

puja room, since there are no " outside " places anywhere.

In this case, I am not sure which way I should face during my

praatah and saayam sandhyavandanams. If I face east, I will have my

back to the perumal and I am not sure if I can/should. If I face the

perumal, I will have Surya rising on my back side.... :(

Any advise is much appreciated!

adiyEn is in no position to give advice, but will venture

to cite the following:

Couple of years ago adiyEn spent a few days at Sri

Ahobila Muth. One afternoon adiyEn was doing japam

facing north with Perumal to my side. Sri Vaduvoor

Swami, the senior Aradhakar Swami at Sri Sannidhi,

instructed me to face Perumal and do the japam. He

explained to me that in the presence of perumal facing

perumal takes precedence over prescribed directions

during Sandhyavandhanam.

Please refer to Thiruvaymozhi 1.5.3 (due to anadhyayanam

adiyEn shall not quote the pasuram in this e-mail). From

this pasuram one can derive that Perumal is the source of,

or supersedes, all directions " thisai " . Also, between

one surya and one million surya, the choice is easy.
