Guest guest
Sri: Sri Lakshmi nrisimha parabrahmaNE nama: Sri Lakshmi nrisimha divya paduka sevaka srivan satakopa sri narayana yatindra mahadesikaya nama: On Friday (2/2/01) evening about 6 p.m. Indian time, on the way from Pune to Solapur, Sri Vasudevan of Sri Ahobila Muth met with an accident and died shortly thereafter. He was driving the Sri Matam's Jeep and there was one other passenger with him, Sri Ramanujam. Sri Ramanujam is presently in a hospital at Solapur in stable condition. He has some head injury, but out of danger. He is conscious, able to recognize people and able to speak cogently. He is expected to fully recover in a few weeks. It was a head-on collision between the Jeep and a lorry. The Jeep went underneath the lorry. The steering column struck Vasu in the stomach. He was rushed to a nearby small hospital and was given first-aid. He was then moved to a bigger hospital. But the condition had seriously worsened and the hospital declined to admit him saying they are not equipped to deal with the case. A little while later Sri Vasu passed away. Sri Vasudevan was an accomplished Ghanapati and was part of the team of scholars encoding the Vedas and other vedic texts into electronic format. More than nine years ago he moved from Sri Sannithi paricharakam to Ashrama kainkaryam when Srimad Azhagiya Singar ascended to the divine throne. Sri Vasu served Srimad Azhagiya Singar with total dedication. He had a keen intellect on secular fields as well. Besides serving Srimad Azhagiya as one of the Ashrama kainkaryaparas, he served Sri Sannithi with overseeing Sri Matam administration, bank accounts, interest income, income from lands and property, etc. At one time he caught an error in a bank statement to the tune of Rs. 1 lakh. Even the bank manager was appreciative of Sri Vasu's keen eye for detail. It is not an exaggeration to say that he was Srimad Azhagiya Singar's right-hand. This is a great loss for Sri Matam and Srimad Azhagiya Singar. Sri Vasudevan was only about 35 years of age and is survived by his wife of three years, his parents, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers. -- adiyEn ramanuja dasan srimad azhagiya singar thiruvadi
