Eyewitness account of the celebrations of the thirunakshatram of H.H

ParavAkkOttai Srirangam PoundarIkapuram Srimad Andavan Sri Gopla Deshika

Dear Bhakta-s,

 

On Saturday 3.3.01 Rohini, the thirunakshatram of H.H Srimad ParavAkkOttai

Srirangam PoundarIkapuram Srimad Andavan Abhinava Vasishtar Sri Gopla

Deshika Maha Deshikar was celebrated at Thiruvarangam.

 

The day started early, with Srimad Andavan performing perumAL

thiruvArAdhanam. After the thiruvArAdhanam, under the auspicious presence of

Srimad Andavan, the gOshTi started the chaturvEda pArAyaNam-s and also the

pArAyaNam of Srimad RAmAyaNam. At around 8.00, the gOsTi arrived at the

sabhA mantapam. At the sabha mantapam there were two upanyAsams arranged.

The first one was on Swamy Deshikan's " Mahaveera Vaibhavam " or " Raghuveera

Gadyam " while the second upanyAsam featured on " Sri Bhashyam " . After the

upanyAsam, all the bhagavatha-s assembled at the sannidhi for the

sAttumurai. After the thadeeyArAdhanam, the gOshTi again assembled for a

vidvat sadas. All the members in the sadas received Srimad Andavan's

anugraham. Around 150 bhaktas attended the thirunakshatram.

 

Arrangements are underway for the thirunakshatram celebrations of H.H.

 

CD-ROM samarpanam-

It is a known fact that Srimad Andavan Sri Gopala Deshika Maha Deshikar has

rendered most beautiful vyAkhyanams on Swamy Deshikan's " YatirAja Saptati "

and " Gopala Vimshati " . These are available as a set of 20 cassettes. The

same have now been converted to CDs (wav and mp3). The first pair of these

CDs featuring Srimad Poundarikapuram Andavan's vyAkhyAnams on these great

stotrams of Swamy Deshikan were presented to H.H this time.

 

One other moment which adiyEn wishes to remember forever is, having been

blessed with the bhAgyam of obtaining initiation into Swamy Deshikan's

" Srimad RahasyatrayasAram " from H.H Srimad Gopala Deshika Maha Deshikar.
