Guest guest
After this historic meeting with Perumal in the form of a Yati, Sri SaThakOpa Jeer wanted to do ArAdhanam to lakshmi nrsimhan. Out of the nine forms of nrsimhan, jwAlA, ahObila, mAlOla, krODha, kAranj(y)a, BhArgava, yOgAnanda, ChatravaTa and PAvana, Sri SaThakOpa Jeer prayed to the one form embraced by lakshmi. They responded by landing in His arms. Sri SaThakOpa Jeer worshipped MAlOla with a great deal of enthusiasm. The resident managers of this divyadesam were impressed by His greatness. They submitted the keys to the sannidhi and other valuables to Sri SaThakOpa Jeer and prayed to be engaged in His service. Sri SaThakOpa Jeer accepted their appeal and contined to stay in Ahobilam for some more time. Then Sri SaThakOpa Jeer desired to go to AzhwAr thirunagari and worship Swami nammAzhwAr. He put MalOla on a palanquin. The party of consisting of Malola, the Jeer and His servants left ahObilam amidst the sound of bugles (vaadyam). Upon arrival in AzhwAr thirunagari, Sri SaThakOpa Jeer was beside Himself with grief upon not finding AzhwAr. In the past Sri Madhurakavigal had managed to gain the presence of Swami nammAzhwAr by repeatedly chanting Kanninun sirutAmbu. In the same fashion, Sri SaThakOpa Jeer fasted and for 3 days and 3 nights continuously chanted Kannin un sirutAmbu. Swami nammAzhwAr appeared to Sri SaThakOpa Jeer as a result of this chanting and Himself revealed the place where His vigraha resided. Followers of other faiths had removed AzhwAr from the temple and had dropped in a tank of water. They had installed demigods in the temple. Thus while a tearful SaThakOpa Jeer was meditating upon Swami nammAzhwAr, the ruler of the place chanced to come to the banks of the tAmraparNi on a hunting expedition. Seeing the effulgence of our Jeer, the ruler approached Him and prostrated. Sri SaThakOpa Jeer blessed him. With a great deal of reverence, the ruler requested the Jeer to engage him in some service. A beaming Jeer narrated the sorrowful tale of Azhwar's divya mangala vigraham. " Please reinstall the deity and ensure that all utsvams are conducted free from obstacles " , instructed the Jeer. A grave ruler made inquiries and learned of the spot where AzhwAr was hidden. With royal honours, he escorted Srimad Azhagiya Singar to that spot. AzhwAr was lifted out of the pond. An elated SaThakOpa Jeer lifted AzhwAr with both hands and hugged Him to His chest. " lokam ellAm ujjIvikumpadi vEdam tamizh seyda neer, nam AzhwAr anRO! " He exclaimed. AzhwAr was paraded in a golden palanquin to the sound of musical organs and ubhaya vEda pArAyaNam. The ruler constructed mandapams and ensured that all utsavams were properly conducted. Out of a mark of his bhakti towards Srimad azhagiya singar, the ruler installed a deity of Sri SaThakOpa Jeer on the outside of the temple. During one festival, Sri SaThakOpa Jeer was doing mangalASAsanam to AzhwAr and EmperumAn. At this time Sri nammAzhwAr spoke. " By installing Me as before, you have firmly reestablished Bhagavath rAmAnuja darSana. I will therefore give you a prasAdam as a reward. " Saying so nammAzhwAr bestowed a Hamsa mudra that adorned His hands, to Sri SaThakOpa Jeer. He also bestowed Him with the new dAsya nAma - Sri AdivaN SaThakOpa Jeer. Then Srimad AdivaN SaThakOpa Jeer installed the deity of our Swami dESikan in AzhwAr thirunagari. Immediately nammAzhwAr ordered an utsavam to commemorate the occasion. After receiving the honours made during the occasion Swami nammAzhwAr ordered Sri AdivaN SaThakOpa Jeer to sign His name as " Sri SaThakOpa Sri " . Later under the instruction of Swami nammAzhwar, a separate temple was built by Sri AdivaN SaThakOpa Jeer for Swami dESikan. After this Sri AdivaN SaThakOpa Yateendra mahAdESikan left Azhwar thirunagari and headed north. to be continued. adiyen Ramanuja daasan, jagan. _______________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
