Guest guest
SrI: SrImatE rAmAnujAya namaH namO nArAyaNa! Dear devotees, Its really a very nice question from a devotee, involving a very subtle issue not known generally to many. > In SRimad Bhagavadham last chapter, Sri Krishna takes > Arjuna and a brahmin (his children are lost) to > Vaikuntam and a conversation takes place between > Krishna and Lord Narayana . Is this place refered > " Karyalaya vaikuntam (vuham) or Vaikuntam (parama > padham)? How did a bhanda jeevan enters those world? I think that you have heard a good upanyAsakar knowledged in Divya-Prabandhams of AzhwArs. In SrImad BhAgavatham, its only mentioned about Lord KrishNa and Arjuna going for SrI-VaikuNTham ie.Parama-Padam. But AzhwAr adds that the brAhmaNa also went along with them - probably a special divine vision of the AzhwAr Or incident of some other kalpa is being described by the AzhwAr. Yes, they went to Nitya-VibhUti ie.Parama-Padam only. But, the question does not end there. All the lost children {baddha jIvAtmas} of this brAhmaNa were with the PirAttis' {SrI, BhU and NILA} at Parama-Padam. It was only a leelA of thAyArs' to make the Lord appear in His KrishNa avatAra rUpam in front of them. PramANas are also there that Para-VAsudEvan wanted that way. Anyway its Divya-Dampatis' leela. They immedietly gave away those children and Lord KrishNa gave them back to the BrAhmaNa. This gives rise to very serious questions obviously : How did those baddha jIvAtmas attain moksham ie.attain Parama-Padam without performing any upAyam {Either bhakti Or Prapatti}? Taking for granted that they somehow attained moksham {By Divya-Dampati's exeptional over-ruling of SAstras !!}, why did these jIvAtmas were again pushed back into samsAra and be made as a baddha-jIvAtma again ?? {This again contradicts SAstras <ref: Last SUtra of Brahma SUtras> which establish that a mukta never attains karma again ie. never again becomes a baddha JIvAtma ; Does Divya-Dampati keeps over-ruling SAstras like this and violate their own previous Sa~nkalpams as per SAstras ? } As usual, our most beloved " Sarvatantra-Svatantra " and " KavitArkika-Simha " SrI VEdAnta DESika comes to our rescue. In the chillarai Rahasya " Paramapada-SOpAnam " , SwAmi DESikan's one-liner answers these questions : " vaidikan putrAdigaL iv-arcirAdi gati-AalE dESa-viSEsha prApti pe(t)RRavargaL allamayAlE avargaLai meettadu viruddham-anRu " {arcirAdi-parvam}. Though the children went to Parama-padam, they didn't enter it through the arcirAdi gati {a special route till SrI-VaikuNTham described in scriptures for those attaining moksha}. Only those who enter SrI-VaikuNTham through the arcirAdi gati attains moksha. Hence, those children {who were abducted through some back-door entry :-)} were not muktas and were baddha jIvAtmas only. Its due very special sukrudams that they had a stay at Parama-Padam when they were babies and brought up by Divya-Dampati out there! Hence, returning those children back to the earth does not violate SAstras. Similarly, Lord KrishNa drove the chariot to SrI-VaikuNTham in a route which is different from the arci-rAdi path. Divya-Dampati's sa~nkalpam is satya-sa~nkalpam. They will not suddenly change/violate SAstras which are their own previous sa~nkalpams. Final Essence : Mere attainment of Parama-Padam is not moksham; But its attainment through the arci-rAdi route is moksham. Note : 1. aDiyEn has already mentioned this siddhAnta in couple of my earlier postings ...couldn't remember those exact articles. 2. The arci-rAdi route is discussed in Brahma-SUtras => Bhagavad RAmAnuja elaborates upon it in SrI-BhAshyam. SwAmi DESikan gives the route in SrImad Rahasya-Traya-SAram and in Paramapada SOpAnam also. Its in the archives if aDiyEn remembers well. SwAmi DESikan thiruvaDigaLE SaraNam aDiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan, anantapadmanAbhan.
