Guest guest
sri: srimathe ramanujaya namaha srimathe nigamantha mahadesikaya namaha BhaktAdigale, I have been discussing (rather, arguing) with my colleage at Iowa State on the pratitantram of Visisthadvaitam vis a vis Advaitam. He mentions that the Jitante Slokam of Rk Vedam implies the meanings convey by the maha-vakhya of smArthas "nEti, nEti". Does the jitante slokam purport advaitam?? I would appreciate a full explanation of the jitante slokam and how it is interpretted in our sampradayam. I wish to know how the jitante slokam is interpreted in our sampradayam. Thanks and Regards, inti srirangappa daasanu, malola

Dear SrI Malolan, Jitante Stotram (JS) does not favour advaita since it is a pramANa grantha {authoritative text}. Probably your friend refers to the "na tE rUpam na ca aakArO ..." verse. aDiyEn had already written a short article on this verse ..Will let you know on it this week. I would appreciate a full explanation of the jitante slokam and how it is interpretted in our sampradayam.I wish to know how the jitante slokam is interpreted in our sampradayam. Someone can take up the task of explaining JS for the net members. SrI MadhurAntakam SwAmi Centenary celebrations committee released a book on JS on Mar,2000. There are 6 chapters viz. "First JitattE", "Second JitantE" etc and each one starts with "JitantE PuNDarIkAksha ....". They all are very moving and certainly a devotee's delight. For the first JitantE, till 14 verses, SrI PeriavAcchAn PiLLai has written a quite detailed commentary. For the whole of first JitantE (20 verses), SrI PuntankOttakam SrInivAsAchArya SwAmi {Popularly known as PuntankOttakam SwAmi, a great vidvAn of SrI Ahobila Muth sampradAya and contemporary of SrImad InjimEttu Azhagiyasingar} had written a detailed commentary. SrI MadhurAntakam SwAmi (SMS) completed the commentary for the rest JitantEs. The book also has an Introduction carrying the over-view of all the six JitantEs by SMS. At the back, JitantA-mantrArtha-nirUpaNam section from Aahirbudhnya Samhita (AS), a very important PA~ncarAtra treatise, is added. In the end, a crisp insightful article on the sookshmArthas and ParArthas enlisted in the above section of AS summarized by SrI abhinava dESika UtthamUr SwAmi is appended. All these commentaries and articles are in Tamil. aDiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan, anantapadmanAbhan.
Guest guest
Dear Malolan Jintanthe Stotram is a great mantram and stotram metioned by the elders. It's explained to Sri Naradha by the Bramha putra's. It consists of 5 parts, all the 5 parts starts with Jitanthe, it's meant for pancha kala parayanam, each kalam each stotram is chanted. During Bhagavad Aradhana kalam at Brahma muhoortham one should say the 1st stotram, and the second during the Abigamanam, thrid during the Uchii kalam, fouth at Sayam Aradhanam, and the fifth at sayanam.. These stotrams explain the Sudharshana prabhavam and Bhagavad Vishyam and helps one to gain the Bhagavad Chitana and Gnyana towards Sriman Narayana. It's must be learned only through Acharyas and if one chants this everyday it gives lot of knowledge and helps one to live towards spiritual life.
