Part - 1

 

Dear BagawathAs,

 

adiyEn prays to achAryA and Sri ranga divya dampathi and attempts

to re-enter this cyber sathsangam on this auspicious day of new

year beginning with a mini series on " thiru mangai thiru aranga

thirup paNi " . Due to the dictates of the time (kAlatthin kattAyam)

adiyEn was unable to fully participate in writing any of the

anubavams for the last several months. During this time adiyEn's

mind and kainkaryams were mainly revolving around the kainkaryams

for Sri Ranganatha temple and AzhwAr aruLich cheyalgaL. adiyEn

profoundly apologises for the absence from this sathsangam.

 

 

With the beginning of the new year adiyEn hopes for the dawn of

many kainkaryams and prays to fulfill the incomplete ones as well.

Initially adiyEn would attempt to complete all the pending and

incomplete series.

 

ekAntha nEram sAyum kAlatthin kattAyam

paranthu virinthu kAyum vAnatthin neelam

suranthu nirainthu pAyum kadalin eeram

en kuRiyin maiyAm vENduvEn vEnkatavnukkE.

 

meaning: The isolation and prayers and ekAntha kainkaryam are

about to wind up as they were the dictates of the time in the

recent past. Those past anubavsm were similar to " kAttu thee " and

were spreading fast. The heavy down pour of " Amuthanin aruL " from

the skies dampened that wild fire of ekAntha anubavam. A " thuLi "

or a droplet from that down pour of " amutha aruL " touches down now

through these series. " oru thuLi vanthu aduthu ippOthu " . After a

prolonged winter, the skies of the spring are seemed to be looking

so vast and expanding and beginning to scorch with the heat. Such

skies are fully BLUE in color and we need this color of the sky

(neelam vENdum ie.. Sri Oppliappan or Sri vyOma pureesan's kaN

pArvai or kadAksham). The seas under this sky are fresh as well

in this new beginning. They are springing (surakkum) fresh water

besides the down pour of this season. Such new and fresh water are

filling those seas. We need those " eeram " (wetness or the water

dressed up with freshness, ie.. Sri Booma dEvi's kAruNyam). We

want this " eeram " of this filling and fresh seas and the vast expanding

blue of the skies to merge and become the ink for

adiyEn's pen to write these anubavams. adiyEn prays to Sri

vEnkatan for blessing the same.

 

Sri kumutha valli samEtha thirumangai AzhwAr performed many

kainkaryams such as bagawatha, bAgawatha, AchArya kainkaryams.

adiyEn is attempting to write some stories from Sri thiru mangai

AzhwAr's life, initially involving his various attempts to collect

resources for building the " peria kOil mathil " (Building the Huge

Compound walls of Sri Rangam as the bagawath kainkaryam). adiyEn

began this series in 1999 when there was a talk of conducting the

samprOkshanam for utthira kAndam pomona boomi Sri Ranganatha kOil.

The series was stopped as the samproKshanam also didnot happen

then. The main purpose of this series is to induce some " rucchi "

(taste for bagawath preethi and kainkaryam) in the minds of those

who reads so that they may want to come and participate in the

maha samprOkshanam and obtain the blessings of the Sri Ranga

divya dampathis. Though the first few parts will be mixed with

some fiction and documeted sources, the closing parts will end up

as similar to " adik karumbu " with rich taste and anubavams

from Sri thiru mangai's pasurams on Arangatthin " theengarumbu " ,

Sri Arangan.

 

adiyEn will also try to quote from the writings by scholaras ie..

Sri Sadagopan and Sri Anbil on thiru mangai pasurams, as reference

on line, as and when required.
