Guest guest
Sri: Sri Lakshmi nrisimha parabrahmaNE nama: Sri Lakshmi nrisimha divya paduka sevaka srivan satakopa sri narayana yatindra mahadesikaya nama: ananthamaana dhendans to all sri vaishnavAs. In the Vedas we find sUktAs or prayers for all the different devathAs.Even in our daily sandhyaavandanam we do Namaskarams to different devathas in all the directions and finally prostrate to Lord Narayana. While eating food we offer to prAna,apana...and finally Brahman or SriMan Narayana. So is it correct to say that the different dEvathAs are expansions of Sriman Narayana (SharIra SharIri bhavam) and all such DEvathAs are actually looking after various functionings of Nature/Vishwa as ordered by SriMan Naraayana with his supreme grace? If yes, is it right to consider them as Bhaagavathaas of our Lord Sriman Naarayana and worship them as we worship a Bhaagavatha? Even in the VishnusahasraNama phalasrhuti Lord Shiva reveals the SriRaama mantram to Paarvati which is equivalent to chanting the entire Vishnu Sahasranaamam. So should we consider Shiva as a BhAgavatha of Sriman Naarayana? would it be Bhaagavatha abachaaram if we don't consider lord shiva as a devotee of Lord Sriman Naarayana? As VishNavas,if we are supposed to see the same vishnu in a learned brahmana, a chandAla, a stone or a tree, then should we also see the same sriman Naarayana in devathaas also? Kindly enlighten me. Guest guest
Sri: Sri Lakshmi nrisimha parabrahmaNE nama: Sri Lakshmi nrisimha divya paduka sevaka srivan satakopa sri narayana yatindra ahadesikaya nama: when adiyen asked this question to sri. u.ve K.E.B. Rengarajan swami, last year during his lectures on Bagavat guna DHarpanam, he said that, as sri vaishnavas we consider srimann Narayanan as the only supreme lord and do prapathi to him(alone). as far as the other devata's are concerned they do deserve respect a baagavathothama deserves and nothing more. KEBR swami also said that rudhra is also to be respected as in ramayana it was he who remainded Perumal of Bharathaalwar waiting for Perumal's return (after raavaa vadham when Perumal wanted to return to His nitya viboothi)and thus envisaged the importance of bagavat baagavata relationship. We sri vaishnavaas invoke several devatas while performing homams (Aavaahanam into the kalasam) before the final aavaahanam of Sriman Narayana. Adiyen therefore is of the opinion that the concept of Maha viswasam and Prapaththi to SrimanNarayana is not to be confused by obstaining from showing resect that is proper and due to the other devatas. I may not be mistaken of saying that we should pray to them regularly or visit their temples. I am not saying so. adiyen ramanuja dasan vasu venkataraghavan - Mohan R <mohan_sr_in Friday, April 20, 2001 9:50 AM A humble question > Sri: > Sri Lakshmi nrisimha parabrahmaNE nama: > Sri Lakshmi nrisimha divya paduka sevaka > srivan satakopa sri narayana yatindra > mahadesikaya nama: > > ananthamaana dhendans to all sri vaishnavAs. > > In the Vedas we find sUktAs or prayers for all the > different devathAs.Even in our daily sandhyaavandanam > we do Namaskarams to different devathas in all the > directions and finally prostrate to Lord Narayana. > While eating food we offer to prAna,apana...and > finally Brahman or SriMan Narayana. So is it correct to > say that the different dEvathAs are expansions of > Sriman Narayana (SharIra SharIri bhavam) and all such > DEvathAs are actually looking after various > functionings of Nature/Vishwa as ordered by SriMan > Naraayana with his supreme grace?
