Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE rAmAnujAya namaH Dear devotees, namO nArAyaNA! This weekend I was hearing the divya prabhanda pAsurams on Sri Oppiliappan by Swami NammAzvAr and our dear kadaikkutti Kalian (Thirumangai AzwAr) - sung by SrI vEdavalli. Words can not describe the immense pleasure and ecstacy that I obtained just by hearing this. If a hard-core materialist like me who has no trace to bakthi can obtain such highest pleasure just by hearing (with no knowldge of the deep meanings in it) the divya pabhandAs, what to tell about the pleasure that will be obtained by devotees like you? I request you to please hear / read these prabhandAs. One Sample from Thiruvoimozhi (Translation is done by SrI Anand SwAmi) " yennappan yenakkAyiguLAi yennaip petravaLAi ponnappan maniappan muththappan yennappanumAi minnap pon madilsoozh thiruvinnagar cherntha appan than OppArilappan thanthananthanathALnizhale " " The Lord who has taken His abode at Thiruvinnagar is my father, my foster mother & my own generating mother too. He is my dear Lord covetable like gold (ponnappan), effulgent like gems (maniappan), cool like a pearl (muththappan), who enticed me to His slavery by showing all these traits. What gold is, what gem is , what a pearl is to a materialist of the world, this Lord is to me, so dear and so endearing. The walls of this shrine are lustrous as if they are made of gold. The Lord, who has no equal (than oppArilappan ) , gave me the shelter of His feet - cool & soothening to the sweltering heat & even more to the tormenting world life here . Who did this favour, out of His condescending grace? The Lord of Thiruvinnagar in His bounteous grace, assures me of all this . " These pAsurams even made me to think that " Just because AzhwArs loved our Lord so much, we love Him; otherwise we have no job with Him " . Is there an equal to the devotion that AzwArs had towards the Lord? Yes, only if there is an equal to the Lord Himself. Ten " OppilAtha ApparkaL " showed the " OppArillappan " ! poykaimunipoothatthaar pEyaazhvaar thaN porun^alvarunkurukEsan vittusiththan thuyyakulasEkaran nampaaNan^aathan thoNdaradippodimazhisaivantha sOthi vaiyamellaam maRaiviLanka vaaLvElEnthum mankaiyarkOnenRivar_kaL makizhnthu paadum seyya thamizh maalaikaL naam theLiya vOthith theLiyaatha maRai nilankaL theLikinROmE. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ AzhwArgaL vAzhi! Dear SrI Lakshmikumar, Thanks for kindly sharing your anubhavams. aDiyEn would like to know about that cassette - Title, Producer etc. > One Sample from Thiruvoimozhi (Translation is done by > SrI Anand SwAmi) Trans is by SrI V.N.VEdAnta DESikan swAmi, as it would have been indicated in that posting. There might be minor modifications (which aDiyEn does not remember). By the way, its quite surprizing that you have kept track of aDiyEn's posting probably during 1998 ! > > AzhwArgaL vAzhi! > AzhwArgaL thiruvadigalE saranam! > > aDiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan, > lakshmikumAr > > SrImad Azhgaiya Singar thiruvadigalE saranam! aDiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan, anand.
