Dear BhakthAs:

 

As you might recall, both Dr.M.A.Alwar of Melkote

and myself have been working on a CD ROM about

the lives of the 12 AzhwArs, their Sri Sookthis and

the 108 dhivysadesams linked with them .

 

We are pleased to let you know that this educational

project on Sri Vaiushnavam following that of

the First CD ROM on AchArya RaamAnujA has been

completed now after a lot of hard work and

the anugraham of the Dhivya Dampathis.

 

This CD ROM will be released under the auspices

of the International RaamAnujA Society soon.

Meanwhile , we wish to release the audio portion

( Narration , paasuram recital by VidvAns in

different raagAs and in the traditional mode ).

This is like the sound track of the Multimedia CD ROM

in two ninety minutes audio tapes.

 

What we would like to do is to release the CD ROM

in two steps . we would like to release

the audio CD portion as two tapes FIRST.

 

Next , we would like to release the Multimedia interactive

CD ROM with excellent graphics and Images to illustrate

the lives and Vaibhavam of the AzhwArs and

the dhivya dEsams that they performed MangaLAsAsanam

for. It is our hope that this CD ROM and its

sound track for those , who have no access to

mulitmedia computers could be a source of valuable

reference to BhakthAs and their families at many levels .

 

WE HAVE PREPARED 200 SETS ( TWO AUDIO TAPES EACH SET) THAT

NEEDS TRANSPORTATION FROM BANGALORE NOW . I HAVE BEEN ADVISED

THAT 100 COPIES WOULD WAY 10 KILOS .

 

IS THERE ANYONE WHO PLANS TO RETURN FROM INDIA IN JUNE

OR JULY , WHO CAN BRING IT HERE AS PERSONAL BAGGAGE TO

SAVE AIR POST FEES? THIS HELP WOULD BE MOST

APPRECIATED . THE PACKAGE (5 or 10 KG units )CAN BE

DELIVERED TO YOUR ADDRESS IN INDIA FOR FURTHER TRANSPORT HERE.

ALL EXPENSES FOR MAILING TO MY ADDRESS IN USA

I am delighted to receive your offer of

help. By copy of this note , I am requesting

Sriman Alwar to contact you to develop the details

on how we could work together to " market " the audio

tapes and the AchArya RaamAnujA Multimedia CD ROM

at Chennai.

 

Here, Sri Mohan sagar and myself will work out

the details on the US Marketing.

 

I recall a note from you some time ago about

beginning the preparations for the AchArya RaamAnujA's

second millenium celebrations in the year 2017 CE .

Trust my memory serves me right in this connection .

You had some very good ideas as a starter .

 

The International RaamAnujA Society can take some

leadership in this area and join with the other organizations

including Matams , SvayamAchArya PurushAs , Institutions

like the Sanskrit Academy of Melkote et al to begin

the planning process .It should be a grand celebration

and should involve the creation and endowment of a major

presence on ground like a University or Center of excellence

on the study of Sri VisishtAdhvaitham and AcArya RaamAnujA's

seminal contributions to this darsanam .

 

Identification of the location for such a Center ,

approval by the respective state ( Tamil Naadu ,

KarnAtakA ,Andhra Pradesh ), development of

the list of Benefactors have to be worked out.

Purhase of a significant chunk of land at

SriperumbhUdhur/KanchIpuram , Srirangam ,

Melukote or Thirumalai have to be assessed.

There are pros and cons for each of these

locations from a cost , access , comforts ,

student enrollment potential and other

points of view.Soner we purchase the land

the better in view of the spiralling cost of

land prices. There would be a plenty of details

to be worked out in planning such a grand

endeavour.

 

I look forward to work with yourself and other

RaamAnuja BhakthAs to plan and work out a memorable

and lasting tribute to our great AchAryan .
