[Upakarma and Gayathri Japam]

Dear SrI VaishNavas,

 

There has been lot of mails regarding the dates

for yajur-upakarma and Gayatri japam. Many publications

state that both the upakarma and gayatri japam are on

04th August 2001 at India and at Singapore if I am correct.

At last, I am confused regarding *the date(s)* for same.

May I request someone to help me finally by telling

the date(s) on which the upakarma and gayatri japam

must be done (at Singpaore)! Please.

Adiyen consulted H.H. Srimad Andavan Swami of Srimad Poundarikapuram

Ashramam for observance of upakarma and Gayathri Japam. H.H. said

that upakarma day is on August 4 and Gayathri Japam must be performed

on August 5. H.H. cited pramANams from the Gautama Dharma Sutras.

For Samavedins, upakarma is on August 22, and Gayathri Japam must be

performed on the August 5.
