Our Acharya Sarvabhouman Swami Desikan's 733rd Thirunakshatram

(Purattasi-Thiruvonam) is falling on Sep 28, 2001 this year. By seeking the

blessings of Swami Desikan and the Padukas of all vaishnava acharyas,

SriVaishnavas in New Jersey have planned to undertake a Maha Sankalpam to

recite ALL of Swami Desikan's Sthothra Mala (28 sthothrams in sanskrit + 1

in prakrit), Sri Desika Prabhandham (18 prabhandhams) and Sri Paduka

Sahasram (1008 verses in 32 padhathis) in a short span of 6 weeks. The plan

is to recite Sri Desika Sthothrams and Prabhandhams on every Friday between

8.30 PM - 10.00 PM ET starting this coming Friday Aug 17 and to recite all

of Sri Paduka Sahasram on Sunday Sep 23. The friday venues will be the

grihams of the participants. If you are interested in participating, please

reply adiyen at shyam.sreenivasan to get the details and

driving directions to the venues each week.

 

If there is sufficient interest from bhagavathas across USA to participate

in this great opportunity, we plan to broadcast this over telephone bridge.

There is **no cost** involved for participating. This is a fitting tribute

to Swami Desikan and will give us an opportunity to recite and hear the

great works of one of the greatest acharyas of our sampradayam. Please reply
