Guest guest
Dear Baagavadhathomas, I have a doubt on the position of Thiruvadi(Anjaneyar) in our sampradayam. I have seen in most of the old (Sri Vaishnavite) temples the Anjaneyar sannadhi is placed out side the temple only. Eg. Thiruvallikeni, Thiruneermalai, Madhuranthakam, (even Namakkal where these days Anjaneyar is more popular than Nrusimar or Ranganathar of that kshetram). While naming children we name them after alwars, acharyas, perumal, Ilaya perumal but only maadhwas have the practise of naming thier children after Anjaneyar(hanumantha rao etc.,) Will the erudite scholars of the list please enlighten me about the significance of Anjaneyar in our Sri Sampradaya. Why are there no significant Ramar temples in the 108 divya desams(particularly in south India) In popular divya desams, ramar Sannidhis only seems like a later addition, is this only my impertinant thought or is there any significance behind this. I will be greatful if my confusion is cleared by you. Adiyen

For instance , AyOdha , PuLLambhUtham Kudi, ThiruveLLiyankudi, ThiruveLLUr and Srirangam ( Uthsavar) , Thirupputtkkuzhi are some of the 108 dhivya dEsams with Sri Ramachandran as the presiding deity. There are Sri Raamar Sannidhis at other dhivya dEsams like ThirukkAzhicchIrAMa ViNNagaram , ThiruvahIndhrapuram , Oppiliappan Sannidhi among dhivya desam . This is just for starters. AzhwArs have enjoyed the Lords of many dhivya dEsams as Sri Ramachandran and sung about their aanandhAnubhavams. Guest guest
Dear Sadagopan Mama, Thank you very much for the immediate reply about perumal. I was almost sure that my thoughts about perumal sannidhies looking like recent additions were impertinant. ( I only hope I have not incurred any abachaaram by entertaining such thoughts) Will you kindly enlighten me on the position of Anjaneyar in our sampradhayam, and the reason why in old temples the Anjaneyar sannidhi is placed outside the main temple.(eg. Thiru kadigai - in addition to the other temples mentioned in my earlier mail) There is also one incident which sparked my doubt on this aspect. Recently Srimad Azhagiya singar was received by Rama Baktha Anjaneya seva sabha- a trust which has built rama, anjaneya and desikar sannidhisat Pozhichchalur in Chennai.H.H. Jeer who performed mangalasasanams to perumal sannidhi and Desikardid not do so to Anjaneyar.( I once again do not want to incurr the abachaaram of my acharyan) kruta krignyas adiyen ramanuja dasaan vasu - Sadagopan <sgopan Vasu Venkat <garudalwar Cc: <bhakti-list >; Saturday, August 18, 2001 6:15 PM Re: Thiruvadi > At 10:16 PM 8/16/01 +0530, you wrote: > > >Why are there no significant Ramar temples in the 108 divya > desams(particularly >in south India) In popular divya desams, ramar > Sannidhis only seems like a >later addition, is this only my impertinant > thought or is there any >significance behind this. > >I will be greatful if my confusion is cleared by you. > >Adiyen > > Dear Sri Vasu Venkat: > > There are many " Raamar Temples " among Dhivya Desams . > For instance , AyOdha , PuLLambhUtham Kudi, ThiruveLLiyankudi, > ThiruveLLUr and Srirangam ( Uthsavar) , Thirupputtkkuzhi > are some of the 108 dhivya dEsams with Sri Ramachandran > as the presiding deity. > > There are Sri Raamar Sannidhis at other dhivya dEsams like > ThirukkAzhicchIrAMa ViNNagaram , ThiruvahIndhrapuram , > Oppiliappan Sannidhi among dhivya desam . > > This is just for starters.
