Recognizing the vidwath, acharams and anushtanams of our Swami, Srimath

Injimedu Azhagiyasingar (42nd pontiff) appointed him as the Principal of

Madurantakam Sanskrit College, after Sri. U.Ve Thirukoshtiyur Swami. He

conducted Vedantha and Ahnika Kalakshepams to the teachers and students of

the school respectively. He was a Adyakshakar (Judge) of various vidvath

sadas as well. As Sri. U.Ve. Lakshminarasimhachariar had no issues, he

adopted his own younger brother's (Sri U.Ve.Srinivaasa Desikan's) son ,

" Sri. L. Varadarajan " .

 

Since the Srimad 42nd Azhagiyasingar's health was deteriorating, Malola

Vidavat Sadas was conducted by our Swami. Srimath Injimedu Azhagiyasingar

was contemplating on choosing a successor to Sri Ahobila Mutt. Srimath 42nd

Azhagiyasingar called Sri. Lakshminarasimhan for adorning the next acharya

peetam. While praying to Malolan, Sri DevanAr ViLAgam Swamy felt that

BhagavAn was suggesting that he should not disobey the niyamanam of

Acharyan. If this divine command is not heeded,he felt that it will be as if

he was committing

a great apachAram. Reminded of many verses of Bhagavad Gita and invoking the

blessings of Sri. Malolan and Acharyan, Sri. Lakshminarasimhan accepted the

divine call for Sannyasa Ashrama Sweekaram.

 

On Feb 8, 1951, Jeevasratham was performed at Thiruvallur. That morning, his

other younger brother Sri. U.VE VeeraRaghavan and his sister went to the Sri

Sannidhi and prayed to Sri 42nd Azhagiyasingar to relieve Sri.

Lakshminarasimhan and offer him Sanyasa Ashrama some other time. Sri 42nd

Azhagiyasingar tried to console them but in vain. As Sri 42nd Azhagiyasingar

could no longer console them beyond a stage, the Jeeyar asked them to

take back Sri. Lakshminarasimhan, if the later agreed to come back with

them. The brother and sister pleaded with Sri. LakshmiNarasimhan to come

back. Our Swami retorted back to them saying that " The Sastras do not permit

one to come back after the acceptance of Sanyasa Ashrama " (Sasthirathingal

Idarku idankoduka villai). Though born with a silver spoon, Sri. Swami

renounced

all the materialwealth and adorned the peetam on Feb 9, 1951, Friday, Thai

maasam, Vikruthi Varsham. As he entered thuriyashramam in ThiruEvvuL, he was

given the title of " Sri Van Satakopa SriVeeraRaghava Satakopa Yathindra

Mahadesikan " .

 

An interesting fact should be noted here. Our Swami in poorvasrama was doing

kaimkaryams to Oppiliyappan and used to recite " Venden manaivazhkaiyai,

Vinnagar MeyavanE " . Thiruvinnagar Serntha Appan seemed to have granted this

boon now. More than that , his Kula Deivam was none other than

" VeeraRaghavan, EvvuL KidanthAn " . It is a rare coincidence that our Swami

was initiated into Sanyasa Ashrama at his kula deivam's divyadesam and

acquired the title of " Sri Van Satakopa SriVeeraRaghava Satakopa Yathindra

Mahadesikan " . It is as if " Angan GnAlam Anja AngorAlariyay " irunda

Lakshminarasimhan and Vinnagar Meyavan blessed DevanAr ViLAgam Swamy to

give up " Manai Vaazhkkai " and to accept Sanyasa Ashramam at ThiruEvvuL to

perform his duties as MalOla Dhivya PaadhukA Sevakar.
