Guest guest
Dear Bhakthas Adyen was fortunate to be present at Thiru ahindipuram and also at Kanchi on 28 th as we did not wish to miss either of the celebrations . The night of 27 th when our Achraya was returning from his Thirumaligai accompanied by the nadasawaram was something my family had never experineced before. The nadaswaram party included a female member who matched the standrd of the male artiste. We were truly impressed at the dedication of the artistes who were deeply involved in the function and it did convince us that music has no soul if it has no involvement. The sight of the families standing at their homes to welcome the Acharya as he was returning took me back to my earlier days in Naduvakarai( near Kumbakonam) and also to mylapore when my grandmother used to keep the coconuts etc ready for offering. Malai uthstavam was as usual a moving experinece .Adeyen was with the Achryan throughout and had the good fortune of offerng Thiruppavai, thiruchinna malai before He ascended to the hill. It was when we reached the hill top mandapam where Garudan had appeared before our Acharya, that a miracle happened. My self and a few others were able to notice 2 garudas hovering very close to the mandapam just as the poorna Kumbham from lord hayagreeva was being brought. This despite the fact that all along the way from down the hill till the mandapam there were fireworks that cud have made someone deaf if he was too close. There was not a single bird in sight till that time.I was one of the few who had the good fortune of seeing this. The mangalasanam of Lord Devanatha was a function I always missed as I had to return bk to madras( on earlier ocassions) to be with our Nanganallur desikan. This time I was determined to stay bk to experience the celebration. It was really a great experience. The celebration at Kanchi was again unforgettable esp the piraya vidai. One has to be there to describe the emotions that engulf us when we see our acharya returning back to Thoopul. It is my request that we should plan our vacation to India to coincide with the Thiru nkshatharam of any of our alwars or acharyas and if possible excahnge notes to share our experince adeyen ramanuja dasan venkatesh
