With due respects to Sri S. Padmababhan and Sri Lakshminrisimhan,

it is upon the commands of Srimad Azhagiya Singar we established

the non-profit organization called Sri Ahbila Muth, Inc. for the

express purpose of raising funds Sri Ahobia Matam. Further, we

are right now in the midst of raising funds for the the Thirunakshatram

celebration of the present Jeeyar on Nov 26th, just a week after

Nov 19th, the Thirunakshatram of 43rd Jeeyar.

 

Please note, the centenary celebrations of 43rd Jeeyar was already

held in Naimisranyam and we have already collected over $30,000 for

this purpose and was remitted to Srimad Azhagiya Singar. Nov 19th

being the actual TN of 43rd Jeeyar parayanam will be held, but the

the celebration planned is for the present Jeeyar.

 

adiyEn also would like to point out two important facts, (i) all

funds we raise go directly to Srimad Azhagiya Singar ONLY not

any intermediary, and (ii) all donations sent through Sri

Ahobila Muth, Inc are tax deductible in the U.S.

 

To avoid any confusion and to avoid multiplicity of appeals

adiyEn would like to request anyone wishing to raise funds

for Sri Ahobila Matam to coordinate their efforts with us.

Dear Sir/Madam

 

Srimathe Srivan Satakopa Sri VEERARAGHAVA Satakopa Yathindra Maha Desikan,

has been the 43rd Jeer of Sri Ahobila Mutt, (popularly known as

Devanarvilagam Azhagiyasinger) from 9th February 1951 to 24th November 1957.

 

He was in the Ashramam for a very short period but traveled extensively

through out India to propagate what he preached and practiced. Born in a

rich family in the year 1901, he has always felt himself as a Trustee of

Lord Krishna, whom his family has been worshipping.

 

He has lived simply through out his life. When he was offered the Pontiff

Throne (Pettam) of Sri Ahobila Mutt by 42nd Jeer, he has accepted without

hesitation. He has performed daily traditional discourses ( Kalashepam) both

during pre and post

Sanyasa Ashramam. He was the Principal of Maduranthakam Sanskrit college and

also responsible for opening of Oriental Schools at many towns in Tamil Nadu

to support traditional studies along with modern education introduced in

curriculum. Sri Ahobila Mutt Oriental School at Mambalam is one shining

example of his vision.

 

Srimad Azhagiyasinger has taken the entire team of Sri Ahobila Mutt to

Badri, for the first time in the history of Sri Ahobila Mutt. He performed

his last Sankalpam at Rishikesh and attained the Abode of His Lord

(Paramapadam) at Naimisaranyam on his 57th Thirunakshethiram. Srimad

Azhagiyasinger’s Brindavanam is located at

the banks of Gomathi river in Naimisharanyam in Uttar Pradesh.

 

Srimad 45th Azhagiyasinger has planned to perform the grand centenary

celebrations of his Acharyan at Selaiyur near Chennai on 19th November ,

2001. With his blessings, it has been decided to celebrate in a fitting

manner at his birth place, Sri Ahobila Muth, Selaiyur by this committee.

 

The Committee comprising of eminent and influential people have decided to

celebrate the happy centenary Thirunakshethiram and to mark the occasion in

an appropriate manner by a 5 day Ubhaya-Veda Parayanam, Vedic lectures, and

Thadeeyaradhanam. A souvenir, intended to be a volume of permanent value

with Srimad Azhagiyasinger’s earlier writings and competent and learned

scholars, to be published on 19/11/2001.

 

We earnestly appeal to you to participate in this holy service on the great

occasion by sponsoring advertisement in the valuable souvenir. We are

planning to print about 1000 copies of sovunir and it will cost about

Rs1,50,000. We are also planning to keep a corpus fund of Rs.1,00,000 for

future celebrations. therefore we are planning to collect Rs.3,00,000. The

money can be sent to Sri. Dr. S. Padmanabhan at the address given above in

this appeal. The remittance should be drawn as " Treasurer, 43rd Jeer

Centenary Celebrations Commiittee " payable at Chennai.

this Centenary celebrations as a service in the honour of our Jeer (Acharya
