the Dhivya Dampathis , Swamy NammAzhwAr and

AchArya RaamAnujA. We are indeed blessed to be

part of this AchArya-Sishya paramparai.Every

AchAryA belonging to the Sri RaamAnuja Kudumpam

are important to us .

 

In this context , adiyEn has the Bhaagyam of belonging

to the Sri Ahobila Matam Paramparai and am proud

to identify myself with HH Sri VeerarAghava YathIndhra

MahA Desikan ( Devanaar ViLAgam Azhagiya Singar of

the 44th pattam )as my SamAsraYaNa AchAryan and

HH Sri NaarAyaNa Yathindhra MahA Desikan as

my Bhara SamarpaNa AchAryan.HH Sri NaarAyaNa YathIndhra

MahA Desikan is the 45th Pattam Azhagiya Singar is

the current PeetAdhpathi of Sri Matam . He is the eighth

in the series of 45 Azhagiya Singars to have the thiru naamam

Of " Sri NaarAyaNa YathIndhra MahA Desikan and reminds

adiyEn of AshtAkshara Manthram . He has been blessing us

over the Internet Tele-Bridge through His insightful

and delectable UpanyAsams on Sri Madhura Kavi AzhwAr's

Dhivya Prabhandham and Kaliyan's ThirunedumthANDakam .

Many of you have been particpating in these UpanyAsam series.

 

HH Sri Narayana YathIndhra Mahaa Desikan will be

arriving at the important mile stone of completing

His 75th birthday on Novemebr 26 (Kaarthigai 11 ), 2001 C.E

at SelayUr , Tamil Naadu . The Ubhaya Veda GhOshtis

and Vidvath Sathas ( Assembly of Sri VaishNavirte

Scholars ) will celebrate this blessed event in

the most traditional manner . Please plan to attend

and recieve His blessings on this auspicious occasion .

Sri NaarAyaNa Yathindhra MahA Desikan is the 45th

holder of the divine title of Sri Ahobila Matam Jeeyar.

He is completing his 75th Birth day. Besides

being three fourths of a century mark (Veda PrAyam ),

75 to adiyEn represents Dhvaya Manthram (7-5=2),

which is our Manthra rathnam. The number 75 also

means to adiyen , the Gayathri Chandas and Manthram ,

which is one of the two most important manthrams .

You may ask how so? If we square 7 and 5 and substract

those numbers (49-25=24), what we are left with

is the number 24 , which stands for the Sacred Gaayathri

Manthram 's Channdas and thereform the sacred manthram

dear to us . Besides Sri GayathrI Manthram , the other

important manthram for us is AshtAksharam . As referred to

earlier , as the Eightth Sri NaaraayaNa YathIndhra

MahA Desikan , He symbolizes the AshtAkshara manthram

to adiyEn.

 

Sri NaarAyaNa Yathindhra Maha Desikan to adiyEn

is like NadamAdum Dhaivam and is the essence of

the three Rahasyams ( Moola Manthram , Dhvayam

and Charama SlOkam ). His pravachana sakthi,

His command of the SaasthrAs and Grantha ChAthushtayam

is in the strictest tradition of Sri VaishNavite

AchAryAs is illustrious.

 

Let us all join together to celebrate the Vaibhavam

of this great Sri VaishNavite AchAryan .adiyEn plans

to write a series of 9 articles on Sri VaishNavite

AchAryAs in general and asmath AchAryan in particular

as my samarpaNam to Him . These articles will be based

on the Rg veda manthrams , which are the most ancient

among Vedic Manthrams. Each of these articles is samarpaNam

for one of the Nine Narasimha Moorthys of Ahobila

KshEthram . My payer is to the Nava Vidha Roopan ,

Sri Narasimha BhagavAn from whom this illustrious

line of Raaja SanyAsis took their ThuriyAsramam

in an unbroken chain going back to Sri MalOla PaadhukA

Sevaka Adhi VaNN SatakOpa Jeeyar some six hundred plus

years ago.AdiyEn will try to connect especially

the Sapthama Mandala Sookthams (7th Book )

of Rg Vedam to the Vaibhavam of this great AchAryan

revered for His Illustrious Scholarship,

AchAram , AnushtAnam and compassion .
