EDITORIAL

Dear Bhagavatas:

With the above greetings, we are glad to announce the resumption of

Issues of " Sri Ranga Sri " under Volume 3.

 

There has been a hiatus for sometime now. But, You will find that

we have actually released as many as 54 Issues in all in Volumes 1

and 2 (exceeding the target average of 52 weekly issues) all within

the period of one year from the inauguration of your Journal on the

Tirunakshatram day of Swami Desikan on 8th October 2000.

 

But, more importantly, the frequent absence on attending Conferences,

development of cataract and consequent surgery of the Editor, besides

the erratic functioning of the PC due to virus etc – all contributed

to slowing down the pace.

 

We would like to reiterate that " Sri Ranga Sri " is primarily a

JOURNAL (as you would have noticed from the regular and specially

numbered issues containing ONLY quality articles).

 

With a view to encourage reader- participation and also to assure

them that there was only a slowing down and not a total stoppage of

the journal, we were approving time-sensitive announcements like Tele-

Upanyasams, Tele-Stotra classes, availability of books, Cassettes,

CDs etc besides allowing a few discussions that were not repugnant to

the stated objectives of the journal.

 

Since these get posted in other sites also, some readers

who to several groups, have complained and a few have even

preferred to de- citing repetition of the same postings over

and over again as annoyingly cluttering their mail boxes, needing

constant trashing of such supernumerary copycat versions. In future,

important announcements will be diverted to the " Special

Announcement " slots. Members who wish to submit such announcements

are requested to super-scribe their postings as " Special Announcement "

 

By the grace of Divya Dhampathis and our dear Acharyas, we will

resume regular issues like SriBashyaamrutham, Gitaamrutham,

Desikaamrutham, Prabandaamrutham, Articles on Perumaal, Divyadesams

etc and other deeply researched articles contributed EXCLUSIVELY for

publication in " Sri Ranga Sri " by Acharyas and numerous Scholars from

India and elsewhere. We believe we have enough such material to keep

us going for at least 2 or 3 more years, even assuming we can have a

daily release! This would help restore " Sri Ranga Sri " to its

intended position as the unique journal in he cyber world.

 

However, " Editorials " indicating the Contents of the Sri Ranga Sri "

issues will be submitted to other Internet groups fraternity for the

information of their members (who are not yet members of " Sri Ranga

Sri " )

 

IF you are satisfied with the form and content of the Journal, please

spread the word among those interested. You may invite their

attention to our Web site where all the issues have been archived for
