Guest guest
Sri Lakshmi Nrusimha paraBramane nama: Sri Lakshmi Nrusimha divya paduka sevaka Srivann satakopa Sri Narayana yatheendra mahadesikaya nama: Adiyen has a question about Harivamsam as published in NarasimhaPriya Vishu-kartikai(current) issue. The question stems from passages in pages 254-256. The background is, Krishna goes to Amaravti to get Parijata tree for Satyabama. Indra opposes and battle ensues. In the battle, Iravata is hurt and falls down to earth to pariyatra mountain. This much was covered in previous issue. The Karthikai issue details the following. Krishna asks Indra to rest himself and his elehant and offers to continue the fight next day. Indra agrees and departs. Then Krishna does avahana for Rudra and Uma on a Vilva fruit and Ganges water and prays to Rudra. Rudra along with Uma and Vrishaba appears in front of Krishna. Krishna goes on to praise Rudra in many ways and in praising so, KRISHNA SAYS " I SURRENDER TO YOU TO ACHEIVE VICTORY AND GLORY. YOU ARE CREATOR OF BRAMHA, BRAMHAPUTRA, SANAKAS, MYSELF AND ADISESHA. Your wife Uma is glorified in the Vedas as the MAYA " (Krishna's Stuti of Rudra goes on and on. I have given here only what perplexes me the most " . Rudra is pleased with Krishna's prayers and says, " Do not worry. You cannot be won anybody. You are a better Sura(Braveman) than myself. You will be able to take the tree home " . Now what is perplexing me is, All our acharyas quoting from Vedas, Upanishads and Bhagavat Geetha have affirmed time and again that Sriman Narayana is the creator of the Universe and all the Lords and Devathas in the universe. The words of Krishna here contradicts his words in Geeta. From Chatusloki, i had inferred Lordess Lakshmi is Maya. I am not sure what is published in Narasimhapriya is correct. If it is correct then could the esteemed members of this great group explain these contradictions to me. adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan Parthasarathy Srinivasan.
