Guest guest
SrI: SrImatE rAmAnujAya nama: Dear devotees, namO nArAyaNa! aDiyEn wanted to share with you all a personal mail aDiyEn sent yesterday to a devotee who is a participent in bhakthi-list, and SrIrangaSrI. aDiyEn is posting that personal mail in this list in order to express aDiyEn's gratitude to SrI Karalapakkam Anand swAmi as he had taught me the theme of the message (which is the thiru-vullam of aDiyEn's achAryan SrImad Azhagiya Singar who is the combined-avatAram of SrI bhAsyakArar, SrI DeSikar and all other achAryAs and AzhwArs, and SrIya-pathi of our sampradAya for aDiyEn). aDiyEn feels that we would not have enough time to write / speak the glories of the works of our greatest SrI Vaishnava AchAryAs and AzhwArs even if we use billions of super computers! When this is the case, where can we find time to read / write the glories(?) of devotees of other sampradAya and freelance(?) devotees? (Note: The question mark after the glories is not meant to belittle, or say, that these devotees do not have any glories at all. But in comparison with the glories of AzhwArs / our AchAryAs, their glories seem to be the stars on the sky during daytime.) Here is a re-production of SrI Anand swAmi's write-up on swAmi DeSikan's thiruvullam (From an article in the bhakthi-list, " Uttamur swAmi: mAl-Ugandha Aasiriyar " ). --- Start Quote --- SwAmi DESikan, in a pAsuram in his chillarai Rahasyam amrutAswAdini viz. " kAsiniyin maNi anaitthum ..... " (27) says that Just like how, all the Gems in the earth can't match the greatness of Kowstubha Gem adorned by the Lord and how all the kshEtras in the earth can't match the glories of PEraruLALan's (Lord VaradarAja's) KAnchi kshEtra, the works < Smrutis, IthihAsa-purANas etc> of sinless and clear/pure minded Maharishis can't match even a word of " mAl uganda aasiriar " (those who are most beloved to Lord SrIman nArAyaNa and became the object of His abundant special mercy; They are the likes of NammAzhwAr and other AzhwArs/AchAryas). SwAmi DESikan adds " I am saying this <difference between the glories of the works of Maharishis and the words of 'mAl uganda aasiriyar'> after knowing the due differences present. Oh People of the World ! Become Joyful by taking these things <the points putforth> as your Treasure " . --- End Quote --- Please excuse aDiyEn for his over-indulgance and for any mistake in aDiyEn's mail. aDiyEn, LakshmikumAr rAmAnuja dAsan SrImad Azhagiya Singar thiruvadigalE saranam! ------------ SrI: SrImatE rAmAnujAya nama: SrI padmAvathi samEtha SrI SrInivAsa parabrahmanE nama: Dear ---------, namO nArAyaNA! adIyEn is really astonished to see your bhakthi on the Supreme Lord SrI krishnA! It is highly laudable that you are incessantly posting various poems on our dearmost SrI Krishnan. As a person born in a non vaishnava family, adiyEn was attracted very much by the very many devotees on Lord Krishna as they seemed to be the best amongst all devotees be they devotees of Krishna or any god. For instance, the maharAstrA devotee SrI ghorAkumbar of bhaktha-vijaya fame, Smt. JanAbhAi, Smt. MeerAbhAi, etc. are all undobtadly devoted very much to the Lord SrI krishnA in different forms like SrI pAndurangA, SrI giridhar gOpAl. The stories and poems of these devotees attract many to become devotees of Lord SrI Krishna. After deep reading of the poems of these great devotees, albeit the poems' most potent ingredient of Krishna bhakthi, aDiyEn could see differences in the stories /philosophies that are inter-twined in the poems which are not substantiated by the very shAstrAs that showed us the Supreme Lord SrI Krishna. Then I was yet to be introduced to the unimaginably great devotional poems of the AzhwArs who spoke the very same language I speak. When I was taught by one of the greatest vedic scholars of our time, HH Srimad Azhagiya Singar that how not only the AzhwArs' poems were the richest in deep devotion to the Supreme Lord SrI Krishna but those were the very translations of the SanSkrit vEdAs in the sweet vernacular language Tamil, aDiyEn started realizing that these poems were not only the means to become a greatest devotee of the Supreme Lord, but they make you to absolutely surrender to Him, thusby making you indeed an eternal servant of the Lord which is the highest perfection for any living soul. Poets like SrI Aurobindho, SrI Utthukkadu Iyer, the self proclaimed devotee Kannadasan, albeit their bhakthi laden songs on Krishna, did not have exclusive devotion to the Supreme Lord Krishna as recommended by vedic scriptures which are obvious from their works. as aDiyEn has greatly benefitted by AzhwArs' Divya Prabhandams, adIyEn, if I may, request you to read the supremely glorious 4000 divya prabhanda poems, and share your anubhavams. This is not only my request, the recommendation of SrImad bhAgavatam, the greatest achAryAs of our vEdic religion, etc. After all, only when we learn from the super most devotess, can we also become so. For instance, you may be thrilled to learn the incomparable devotion of SwAmi nammAzhwar, by Him going into trance for 2 years just by hearing the Soulabhyam (easy accessibility) of SrI Krishna in the dAmOdhara pastime of the Lord. Hope you would consider aDiyEn's request in its correct sense, rather than rejecting them as sectarian views. Once again, thanks so much for your laudable devotional services on the net. aDiYen would like to hear from you. SrI rukminI vallAbhAya KrishnAya namO nama: namO nArAyANa! adIyEn, LakshmikumAr rAmAnuja dAsan SrImad Azhagiya Singar thiruvadigalE saranam!
