Guest guest
Sri: Sri Lakshminrisimha Parabrahmane Nama: Srimad Lakshminrisimha Divya Padukasevaka Sri Narayana Yatindra Mahadesikaya Nama: Namo Narayana: Determined to study Sasthras, Srimad Injimedu Azhagiya Singar, at the age of 16 in his poorvasrama, moved to Thirukkudandhai and studied Nyaya Sasthraam under Chatussastra Kalpataru, Vidyasala pratishtapaka, Ammasatram Seshacharya Swami. After completing Nyaya Sastram, taking the Swami's permission he moved to Mysore. After paying his obeisance to the Jeeyar swami of Sri Parakala Matam, Sri Krishna Brahmmatantra Parakala Swami, he approached Tharkathertam Kasturirangacharya and studied Samanya Nirukti under him. However, the study was interrupted. At this point the future Jeeyar set out on a journey to north India, with the hope of continuing his studies in Kasi. On the way, he visited many divine rivers including Krishna, Thungabadra, Thriveni, etc. At Kasi he studied Anumana Kandam under Seetharama Sasthri. Once again the study was interrupted due the onset of plague. Swami then left Kasi and returned to Thirvangdam. Before leaving for the south, Swami visited Gaya and took bath in the divine river Palguni, and performed the srardhams in accordance with sasthras. The difficulties this Swami went through for the sake of studies inspired him in later years to start many Patasalas including the Madhrunthakam Oriental School and Veda Patasala which has connection in one way or another to almost all the present day Sri Vaishnava panditas. ..... -- adiyEn (This is a free translation of excerpts from Vaibhava Sudha, a biography of the 42nd Jeeyar, Srimad Injimnedu Azhagiya Singar.)
