Guest guest
SrI: Dear BhakthAs of Sri RanganAyaki ThAyAr: In the 57th slOkam , Swamy Parasara Bhattar states that all of MahA Lakshmi avathArams such as SitA PirAtti were dress rehearsals to Her final avathAram as ArchA Moorthy , SrI-RanganAyaki at SrI-Rangam : OudhArya kaaruNika Aasritha vathsalathva- poorvEshu sarvam adhisAyitham athra Maatha: ! SrI-Ranga dhAmni yadhutAnyadh udhAharanthi SeethAvathAra-mukham yEthath amushya yOgyA --SlOkam 57, SrI GuNa Rathna KOsam (Meaning according to Dr.V.N.VedAntha Desikan ): ************************************************* Oh Mother! All Your traits such as bounteousness , Mercy , Sympathy for the surrendered one, and the like shine in Your divine station at SrI-Rangam with great lustre. Evidently , these qualities were also recokned in Your avathArams such as SeethA PirAtti that You took ; this is no wonder since, as I percieve , all Your avathArAs were only rehearsal-acts for this final portrayal as SrI-Ranga NAyaki. Additional Commnets (V.S): ************************* In Your SthAnam as ArchA Moorthy at SrI-Rangam , all of Your limitless auspicious attributes such as OudhAryam (generosity ), KaaruNyam ( compassion ) , Aasritha- Vaathsalyam ( affection for those , who surrenderd unto You )and the like shine resplendently . People may say that such qualities of Yours were displayed during Your Vibhava avathArams like SItA avathAram , while You accompanied Your Lord during His RaamAvathAram. I have to respond to them by pointing out all those demonstrations and displays of Your auspicious attributes during VibavA avathArams were like preliminaries for the final act of Your appearance as ArchA Moorthy , SrI RanganAyaki to accompany Your Lord , SrI RanganAthan . After these rehearsals , these guNAs reached their perfection in Your ArchAvathAram. Swamy ParAsara Bhattar has visualized SrI-RanganAyaki as SitA PirAtti in number of earlier slOkams of SrI GuNa Rathna kOsam ( example: slOkams 14 ,50,51 and 54). Swamy ParAsara Bhattar belonged to the SitA PirAtti's ghOshti and supported Sage ValmIki's statement that SrImath RaamAyaNam is " SitAyA's charitham mahath " (SitAyaNam) . His devotion for SitA PirAtti was boundless. He saw SrI-RanganAyaki in SitA and SitA in SrI-RanganAyaki. He has addressed therfore SrI-RanganAyaki as " MyTili " and " JanakAthmajA " in earlier SlOkams. SitA PirAtti's Svaroopa, Roopa , GuNam vaibhavams are invoked Here to set the stage for comparing them with Her ArchAvathAra manifestation as SrI-RanganAyaki. SrI RanganAyaki is Sarva lOka Swamini and Sarva niyAmini ( Mistress of all universes and the commander of them ). Veda manthram salutes Her as " VisvAchI bhadrA , SumanasyamAnA -- " . She is recognized as Sarva lOka VyApini and with sObhana manas ( auspicious mind). Because of that Sumanas and Bhadrathvam , any one who is the benficiary of Her auspicious glances becomes blessed as Manthra dhrashtA,dhanavAn, dhAnyavAn and GuNavAn (Vedic scholarship , owner of riches and abundant food and possessor of auspicious attributes).Jn~Anam , Isvaryam and Sukham come the way of the chEthanam on whom SrI RanganAyaki's side glances fall . Hence , She is saluted as " SoubhAgya Lakshmi " . Her Sahara naamAs such as " SOka-Naasini, RakshA , KshamA , SaanthidhA , GOdhA , HlAdhini ,AnugrahA , VagIsvari, KshAnthi, SrImathi , Moksha LakshmI , VaishNavi, Sarva-ManthrAthmikA , Hari-BhadrA , SarvadhObhadrA ,Nithya KalyANi ,Kali-Naasini , Tatthva GarbhA , LOka dhaariNi , Jagath PriyA , SitA , MyTili ,SarvOtthamA ,SarvathO mukhyA , SaasvathI ,SarasvathI , MangaLa dEvathA , SARANYAA, Anantha SrI , Aanandha RoopA ,YOga kshEma VahA , Veda SrI , Jagath Kudumbini, ShADguNya PoorNA " attest to a small list of Her limitless GuNams that She displays as SrI RanganAyaki. SrI RanganAyaki is Vedavalli ( Vedam says in this context , " Saa hi SrI: " , all Veda Vidhyais are attributes/vibhUthis of SrI Devi). She is the one , who dries up the ocean of our miseries : " SarvArTi Samudhra parisOshiNi " .She grants us as boon the supreme Moksha Sukham ( Para-nirvANa dhAyini , vimukthi phala dhAyini). Smruthi reminds us about Her glories as UdhAraa (supremely generous) this way: Sarva-kAma-pradhAm RamyAm SamsrArNava-thAriNIm kshipra prasAdhinIm LakshmIm SaraNyAm anuchinthayEth (meaning): We should think of this ArchAvathAra LakshmI, SrI RanganAyaki as the grantor of all that one desires, most beautiful, uplifter from the ocean of bottomless samsAram , refuge for SaraNAgathAs and quick responder to our appeals during our times of distress. SWamy ParAsara Bhattar says here that SrI RanganAyaki perfected all these auspicious attributes during the earlier Vibhava avathArams and is blessing us in Her ArchAvathAram at SrI-Rangam with the integrated essence of these anantha klayANa guNams.
