Sri:

SrimatE Gopaladesika MahadesikAya Namaha,

Translation by U.Ve. Dr. V.N. Vedanta Desikan Swamin:

569. virachithasurasinDhO: viShNupAdhAravindhAth

samaDhika,anuBhAvam pAdhukE! dharshayanthI

valaBhidhupalamukthApadhmarAgaprakAshaI:

pariNamayasi nUnam prApthashONam prayAgam

Oh Paaduka! The Lord's Feet produced but only one holy river, the

Ganga. Your greatness is even better. You contain gems that 'produce'

flows of other holy rivers too-Your blue gem implies the Sona; the

pearl, the Ganga, and the red gems, the Yamuna.

Namo Narayana,

SriMuralidhara Dasan

Special Notes by V.SadagOpan (V.S):

SlOkam 569:

1) UtthamUr Swamy's anubhavam: Swamy Desikan shifts his attention from

The Cauveri now to the other rivers in this verse. He says: " Oh

PaadhukE! You become the confluence of three rivers at Prayag , which

is even more auspicious than the divine river GangA, which arose from

the sacred feet of Your Lord during His incarnation as Thrivikrama.

With the union of Your rays of the white pearl (Ganga), blue sapphire

( Yamuna) and red rubies (SoNam ), You become the holiest confluence

of the three rivers at PrayAg . "

2) Srimath Andavan's anubhavam: Oh PaadhukE! Your Lord's Thiruvadi

only produced GangA. You show Your Vaibhavam as being greater than

Your Lord by generating the white GangA, the dark YamunA and the red

SONA river through the combination of Your pearls , sapphire and

rubies. The inner meaning is that AzhwAr ( SaThAri Soori-Swamy

NammazhwAr) helps the people of the world even more than the Lord

Himself.

3) Oh PaadhukE ! You have more glories than Your Lord's sacred feet

that produced GangA river ( Thvam virachitha Sura-sindhO: VishNu

PaadhAra-vindhAth samadhikam anubhAvam darsayanthi). The combination

of blue sapphire , white pearl and red rubies generated the

confluence of the three rivers, Yamuna, GangA and SONA (

Valabhidhupala MukthA PadhmarAga prakAsai: prAptha SONam prayAgam

pariNamayasi). This is for sure (Noonam )… (V.S).
