Temple officials said the ornamental doors to the 'Perumal Sannidhi' of the famous temple had been refurbished after a gap of over three decades and intricate workmanship had been accomplished by goldsmiths and artisans. During the process, about 50 kg of silver had been added. The required amount of silver was taken out of the stocks available with the temple and through contributions by devotees, while labour charges were borne by a Chennai-based trust, they said.
