regarding thoopul Mani Mandapa Kaimkaryam

Dear Bhagavathas

 

Adiyen had requested support to build a Mani Mandapam for Swami Desikan at

Thoopul somewhere around last year. Thoopul is the avathara sthalam of Swami

Desikan. The kaimkaryam is almost 75% complete.

 

WHY THIS KAIMKARYAM:

---------------------

Many people might be wondering what is the significance of this kaimkaryam.

On every month's Sravana nakshatiram, Swami Desikan will taken to this

mandapam situated immediately next to the SwamiDesikan Sannidhi at Thoopul

for Thirumanjanam. This mandapam went to such a dilapidated state that the

thirumanjanam at this mandapam was stopped. The other significances of this

mandapam are that there exists a well (nadabaavi in tamil) where Swami

Desikan used to take water for his morning prayers and a verandah near the

well where he used to perform his anushtanams when he was living in

HOW WELL THIS KAIMKARYAM IS PROCEEDING?

The kaimkaryam was started somewhere in the last year. The plan was to

demolish the existing dilapidated mandapam (excluding the well and verandah

where Swami used to perform his anushtanams) and build a new mandapam on the

same place.

 

Adiyen had been to thoopul on a panguni revathi day (in march) this year to

have darshan of DeepaPrakasar's (the presiding deity at thoopul)

thirumanjanam. During that time, the construction had started in full swing.

The existing mandapam had been demolished and sand/cements had just gotten

there to begin the construction. Day before yesterday, adiyen received a

mail from the trustee (Smt. V. K. Santha) that the construction is almost at

its end with the roofing complete. There will be still a necessity of 1 lakh

Indian Rupees needed for the completion of the kaimkaryam.

 

Expected Date of Completion

With the support of many Bhagavathas in US, Singapore, India and many other

places in the world this kaimkaryam has almost neared its completion. We are

still 1 lakh short of finishing this kaimkaryam. Adiyen wishes to thank Sri.

MadhavaKannan and Sri. Diwakar Kannan for initiating this kaimkaryam in the

Malolan net and in various other forums. The expected date of completion of

this kaimkaryam is PURATASI SRAVANAM of this year.
