Oh Paaduka! As Lord Ranganatha walks across the street, admirers

sprinle flowers on the path. These flowers, under the impact of the

Padmaraga lustre falling on them look like stars in the red horizon

of the evening dusk.

1)UtthamUr Swamy's anubhavam: Oh PaadhukE! When RanganAtha travels

around the streets of Srirangam, His devotees shower a lot of white

jasmine flowers as a sign of their affection and reverence. The red

color from Your rubies falls on those white flowers and the mingling

of the two makes it look like the red evening sky interspersed with

stars of the evening . The scene is like the white stars against the

background of what is known as " ManjaL Veyyil " .

 

2)The Lord is having sanchAram in the streets of SrIrangam and is

being transported by His Paadhukais , where the red rays from their

rubies are falling on the copious rain of white flowers showered by

the BhakthAs of the Lord (Viharatha: rangEsithu: raTyAntharE

parikeeryamANaa: sumansa: ). The admixture of the red rays from

the rubies with the white mallikai pushpams (Thvath PadhmarAga

kiraNa cchuraNAth ) create a special, beautiful effect (viz)., the

rows of white stars against the background of reddish dusk
