Srimath Srinivasa Ramanuja Maha Desikai Namaha

 

This month of Avani is very auspicious . We celebrate the Krishna Jayanthi &

Hayagriiva Jayanthi. Then for Shishya's of Srimath Srirangam Andavan Ashram the

Thirunakshatram of five of the Achrayas is celebrated. I am one of the Ellu

Peran of HH Kadenthethi Andavan known as Srimath Srinivasa Ramanuja Maha

Desikan. Today is Avani Moolam and the Thirunakshatram of H H Kadenthethi

Andavan. I wanted to contribute a small article on My Ellu Tha Tha. I have

scanned and attached the article which came in Sri Ranganatha Padukai Issue date

" Prabhava Year " " Adi Issue " (1987) regarding Hayagriiva Upasana. And as an

inspiration , I had got a photo of my Ellu Tha-Tha drawn in our ancestral house

in Kumbakonam. This house is the same house which swami used to Live until he

took sanyasa.It shows the devotion of swami to Lord Hayagriiva . Kandenthethi

Andavan was a great Scholar. In his poorvashrama he was know as Kavi Kunjaram

Sadavadhani Varadha Vedanthachar. He got Upadesha of Hayagriiva Manthra &

Sudharshana Mantra from then HH Prakala Mutt Swami. And Narasimha Mantra from

Thirukudanthai Azagiasingar( In his poorvaashrama) and in year 1905

Thirukudanthai Azagiasingar initiated the Kadenthethi Andavan as Mutt head of

Srimath Srirangam Andavan Ashram.

 

He has to his credit the books like Swapnasadakam,Arurutprabhandam,Komala

Dhantakam ( a shostra composed on Goddess Komalavalli Thayar consort of Lord

Aravamudhan of Thirukudanthai.HH Kadenthethi Andavan had a special attachment to

Thayar.He has given a Gold Karai ( Jewel ) and a Silver Simha vahana to

Komalavalli Thayar. He had lost his eye sight and by reciting Komala Dhantakam

the vision was restored) .

 

The then Thasildar of Thanjavur asked him like Thirukural in Tamil is there

anything in Sanskrit. For that HH told he will compose one and show it in a

weeks time . This led to the birth of Grantham Athputhavaamanam.It is said the

copies are there in Trivananthapuram,Thiruvaduthurai & Madurai.

 

The scanned article beneath says swami was an Hyagreeva Upasaka and he used to

Keep the Kollu Sundal on his head and recite Hayagriiva mantharam . Then Lord

Hayagriiva used to come in the form of Horse and eat. I am really fortunate to

be born in the vamsa of this great Acharya and it is a strange co incidence

after five generation I am also born under the star of Moola and in the Avani

Month. With this i end my article and i need your blessings and good wishes.

the fire in me to find out and lay the hands on Athputhavamanam written by my

Ellu Tha-tha. I have already started the ground work and i am sure with the

blessings of GOD, Poorvacharyas and all of you i will be able to succeed in my

mission.I request Mr. Shyam to post the Life History of HH Kadenthethi Andavan

know as Srimath Srinivasa Ramanuja Maha Desikan in our groups.
