Please verify this. " Thanga/Thangam " in Tamil means

" Gold " . In original tiruppAvai 30th verse, it is

" sanga tamizh mAlai " and NOT what you have written.

The word " sanga/sangam " means " group " or " sadas (sanskrit) "

and in certain historical records of Tamil literature, " sangam "

means " Assembly of Tamil scholars (first, middle and last sangams) -

for the growth of Tamil language " . Well, whether the sangam(s)

existed or not is in debate among certain scholars. The word " sangam " in

" sanga tamizh mAlai " has this meaning and our pUrvAchAryas have

expressed their tiru-vuLLam also in their swApadESams. If time

permits, I will elaborate them. Anyway, let us not make this " tangam "

and " sangam " as the famous as " CitRanj ciRRu kAlE " discussion!

Also I will present my views on SrI mAlOlan cidAmbi's other

points shortly from sampradAyam point of view.

Yes. Thank you for pointing out my mistake. I did mean to write

Sangam, by Thangam was accidentaly written.

 

Sometimes I wait to start my internship in Singapore say around the

summer of 2004, just to learn under your feet!
