Dear Sri Vaishnavas,

 

The intent of this mail is to share the greatness of the acharya

Swamy Desikan on his Thirunakshatram day. There is no intent to hurt

any one in any form.

 

Let's enjoy the greatness of our dear VEDANTHACHARYAN, Swamy Desikan

on this auspicious day. Swamy Desikan's divine son Sri Kumara

Varadhachariyar enjoys Swamy Desikan's divine form in his work Pillai-

Antathi. He enjoys the greatness of his acharyan in the fourth

pasuram. The below translation is from the U Ve Sri

RamaDesikachariyar's commentary on Swamy Desika Prabandham.

 

uyyum vagaiyilai yutthara vEthiyuL vandhuthittha

seyyavaN mEviya seeraru LaaLaraich sindhaiseyu

meyyava Nnendhai yiraamaa NnusanaruL mEvivaazhu

maiya Nnilanguthoop puRpiLLai yaayndha poruLanRiyE.

 

Swamy Desikan who lives in continuous contemplation on Sri

PerArulalan inseparable from Sri PerundhDevi Thayar who came

(avatharam) from the yaga-vedhi after four headed Brahma's asvamedha-

yagam and who lives only by the mercy of the great Bagawath

Bashyakara, has blessed with many divine works which brings out the

essence of Vedantham. The essence of Swamy Desikan's works is the

only way to get liberated from this material world. There is no other

means for the bounded souls for liberation except from Swamy

Desikan's works.

 

There are so many authors in this world claim their work as " AS IT

IS " . Whose work is accepted as " AS IT IS " ?

 

1. Vedantham AS IT IS - Today, few of us are talking about parama-

vaidhika matham. It's possible because Swamy Desikan who blessed us

the essence of the Vedantam " AS IT IS " through his divine works like

Isavasyopanishad Bhashya, Tattva-mukta-kalapa, Satadushani,etc.

 

2. Bagawath Geetha AS IT IS – Today, many are giving lectures and

talks on Bagawath Geetha. It was Swamy Desikan who blessed us the

essence of Geethacharyan " AS IT IS " through his divine works like

Gitartha Sangraha Raksha, Tatparya Chandrika.

 

3. Brahma Sutra AS IT IS – Today, people are talking about Brahma

Sutras without fundamental knowledge on logics and vedantham. It was

Swamy Desikan who blessed us the purport of Brahma Sutras and Sri

Bashyam " AS IT IS " " through his divine works like Sri Adhikarana

Saravali, Nyaya Parisuddhi, Nyaya Siddhanjana, etc.

 

4. Srimath Valmiki Ramayanam AS IT IS – Today, many discourses are

being delivered on Ramayanam in various parts of this world. It was

Swamy Desikan who blessed us the essence of Srimath Valmiki

Ramayanam " AS IT IS " through his divine works like Abhaya Pradhana

Saaram. Currently, this work is being delivered by U Ve Sri Hari in

Singapore in a traditional kaalakshepam style.

 

5. Divya Prabandham AS IT IS – Today, many many of us are talking

about the divine works of Azhwars. It was Swamy Desikan who blessed

us the essence of Divya Prabandham AS IT IS through his divine works

like Dramidopanishat Tatparya Ratnavali, Dramidopanishat Sara,

NigamaParimalam, Muni-Vahana Bogham, Daya Sathakam, etc.

 

6. Bagawath Ramanuja AS IT IS – It was Swamy Desikan, the one and

only acharya who analyzed and presented Bagawath Ramanuja's works AS

IT IS through his divine works like Sri Adhikarana Saravali, Gadya

Bashyam, etc.

 

7. Bagawath Ramajuja's Rahasya Artham AS IT IS – It was Swamy

Desikan, the one and only acharya who analyzed and re-established the

secret meanings of Thirumantram, Mantra Ratnam & Carama Slokam AS IT

IS. It was Swamy Desikan who re-estalished Bagawath Ramanuja's

rahasya artham " AS IT IS " which came thorough the kidaampi Aachaan

who served (did kainkaryam) intimately to Bhagavath Raamaanuja muni

in his tiru-madai-paLLi (divine cooking place) and was the most

blessed disciple (Sishya) with wisdom in entirety of Bhagavath

Raamaanuja muni. Swamy Desikan says this in " yativaranAr madai-paLLi

vanda maNAm engal vArttayuL manniyadE " and it can be seen in his

divine works like Sriamth Rahasya Traya Saram and Chillarai Rahasyams

(Tattva Padavo, Rahasya Padavi, etc).

 

8. Acharya Bakthi AS IT IS – It was Swamy Desikan who exhibited the

real acharya bhakthi " AS IT IS " through his divine works like Sri

Yathiraja Saptathi, Sankalpa Suryodayam, Sri Padhuka Sahasram, etc.

 

9. Anushtanam AS IT IS – It was Swamy Desikan who practiced the Dos

and Don'ts of the sastra " AS IT IS " . Srimath Valmiki says in Srimath

Ramayanam, Dharmam has taken the form of Sri Rama. Similarly, the

same dharmam has taken the form of Swamy Desikan. We know about his

anushtanams from the history and through his divine works like

Saccharitra Raksha and Sri Vaishnava Dinasari.

 

There is no end to the list of AS IT IS from Swamy Desikan. There is

nothing left by this acharya for us to say AS IT IS in any topic in

this world.

 

There is no means for us to repay in any form to this acharyan for

showing us the path to get liberated from this material world.

 

Let us all recite the following pasuram from Pillai Antathi to

contemplate the divine form of Swamy Desikan.

 

arudaru maaraNa dhEsiga NnEyanga tooppuRREvE

varukavi thaarkkika singamE vaathiyar vaazhvaRuththaa

yirukaiyuNG kooppi yuraikkumiv viNNappa monRukELaa

yuruva venakkaru LaayeNNu muLLamun RoNdaraiyE.
