Swamy Desikan Thirunakshathram celebrations on Sunday the 20th - FULL DAY event

Srimathe Nigamantha Mahadesikaya namah:

 

Swami Nigamantha Maha Desikan's Thirunakshatram (Oct. 15th), the 302nd

thirunakshatram of Sri Thirukkudanthai Desikan Swami (Oct. 13th) and the

thirunakshatrm of Sri Adivan Satagopa Yateendra Mahadesikan (Oct. 11th)

would be celebrated at Sri Madhusudhan and Smt Rama Madhusudhan’s residence

on October 20, 2002 as a full-day event. event. The highlight is that the

abhayapradhAna sAram kaalakshpam and Srimath Rahasyathra saram of Swamy

Desikan by Sri Hari are going on at Singapore. The event needs to be

celebrated in a manner befitting to these Acharya saarvabhoumars of our

Sathsampradayam.

The following is the proposed agenda:

 

9.00 Bhagawath ThiruvArAdhanam commencement- ThiruppallANdu,

ThiruppaLLiyezhucchi and Pancha sookthams recitation

 

There will also be PadhukA arAdhanams for Dhivya Paadhukas of His Holiness

Srimath Azhagiya Singar and of His Holiness Srimath PaRavaakkOttai Andavan

Swamy.

 

9.30- 12.00 Swamy Desikan Dhivya Sahasra naamaavaLi- Archana by every one

of us- Sri Hari will utter the nAmAvaLi and each of us to repeat all 1008

names of Swamy Desikan (with thuLasi archanai by each of us) [During the

archanA, SrI Hari will dwell on some of the beautiful nAmAvaLi’s for them

to linger - with the translation in Tamil for better appreciation] – This is

asmadhAchAryan His Holiness Srimad ParavakkOttai Andavan’s agnyA to recite

the sahasranAmam during this event.

 

[if time permits] Recitation of Hayagriva sthOthram, nyAsa dasakam

SaaRRumuRai, Pillai anthAthi, Desika Prapatti, Desika divya mangaLa vigraha

dhyAnam and vaazhi ThirunaaL and Desika mangaLam

 

12.00- 1.30 Prasadham distribution

 

1.30 – 2.00 Songs by Bhagawathas and children (or recitation of slokas)

 

2.00 – 2.30 Just A Minute Session

[There will be topics like Alavandhar, Naamazhwar, Andal, Ramanuja, Desikan,

Bharanyasam, Samasrayanam, or Sandhyavandhanam, kaimkaryam, etc.. The

speaker will be asked to speak for one FULL minute. That’s all. It can be in

Tamil, or English or mixture.]- It would be fun and enriching too. All are

encouraged to come forward.

 

2.30 - 3.00 Swamy Vedantha Desikan- Dhivya anthAthi it is more than 1008

kaTTaLai kalitturai verses bringing out the beauty of SrImath tirukkuTandai

dESika swAmi's swAmi dESika divya sahasra nAmam. titled as divya antAdi. It

is in antAdi todai like rAmAnuja nUTrandAdi and tiru-viruttam. Few verses

would have been read while reciting the sahasranAmam and explain as it is in

ancient Tamil grammatical language and it is in classical Tamil literature

listed under first sangam age.

 

3.00 - 3.15 ThiruppAvai Dance by Sowbhagyavathi Kanchana Sridhar

 

3.15 - 3.30 Recitation of Adaikkala patthu, MummanikkOvai and Navamani
