DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESERVATION PROJECT

***************************************

On the eve of DipAwaLi, the ancient festival of Lights ,

adiyEn would like to invite Your attention to a major

Educational Kaimkaryam that is just commencing.

 

This important initative is to save the scholarly articles

of Nrusimha priyA from the ravages of Time . The acid paper ,

which was used in olden times has begun to crumble

and there is an urgent need to save them and convert

them (the sholarly publications of Nrusimha PriyA

from earlier years going back to 1942 ) to electronic media ,

which could be easily accessed by one and all around the globe.

There are 720 plus monthly issues of Nrusimha PriyA

released so far.

 

HISTORY: BIRTH OF NRUSIMHA PRIYA

The Nrusimha priyA Journal was created in 1942 C.E

by HH The 42nd Jeeyar of Ahobila Matam revered

as SrImad InjimEttu Azhagiya Singar. This Jeeyar

was a visionary extraordinaire and created

the Nrusimha PriyA , the MadhurAnthakam PaatasAlA

and other institutions to protect and preserve

SrI Vaishnava SampradhAyam for ages to come .

of the Nrusimha PriyA monthly JOurnal is worthy of

recollection at this time:

the karuNai of SrI Nrusimhan shine forever

with the benovolent glances and voilition

(sankalpam) of Nrusimhan and last as long as

the Moon and the Stars exist on this earth!

May this new journal have an auspicious existence!

May this Journal reside permanently at every

house of Nrusimha BhakthAs along with MahA Lakshmi,

the beloved consort of Nrusimhan !).

 

Today , The circulation for SrI Nrusimha PriyA (NP)has

grown over the past six decades and is indeed

read avidly by SrI VaishNavAs in India and abroad.

 

SCOPE OF THE DIGITALIZATION & CONTENT INDEXING PROJECT

Each issue of NP has approximately 120 pages after discounting

Matrimonial and advertisement pages. 720 plus issues have

therefore 86,400 pages of Scholarly reference material .

The scanning and cleaning of each of the page of image

would cost 3.50 Rupees. That comes to approximately

3 laks plus rupees ( approximately 6,300 $). Rounding off

to 7,000$ to include other incidental costs, we can

conclude that an investment of 7,000$ would make this dream

come true and future generations can have access to these

treasures housed in Nrusimha priyA .

 

STATUS OF THE BUDGET AND CONTRIBUTIONS

Out of the estimated budget of 7,000$ , three BhakthAs

have come forward so far and pledged to contribute

500$ each. That would already cover 21% of the budget($1,500).

Twelve years of content can be covered from the above $1,500.

With that amount , a pilot project covering the first

4 years will be iniitated shortly.

 

We need the support from the BhakthAs for the rest of

the 80% ( $ 5,500). The estimated costs to cover an year's

issues is approximately $120. One can sponsor one or multiple

years including the year of Your birth or the birth of Your

family members . Those who wish to pledge sums less than $120

are also welcomed to participate in this once in a life time

effort to protect and preserve these Kula dhanams .

Nothing will please the hearts of our AchAryAs more than

seeing such treasures protected for future generations

instead of crumbling away due to the perishable nature of

acid paper on which these journals are printed.

Kaimkarya Poorthi in this project!

oil and GangA Devi stays in the waters .For the sake of

chasing away poverty / inauspiciousness,One should

take an oil bath and wash oneself with

hot water and thereafter wear new clothes.

linked to the destruction of the evil NarakAsuran of

PrAkjyOthisha Puram by Lord KrishNA , please remember
