Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE rAmAnujAya nama: ========================= With reference to the few of the recent mails in our mAlOlan net, I interfere as a moderator and suggest the following points specifically. This is merely with the intention to improve the quality of discussions reg. ubhaya-VEdAnta and nothing else. There is no personal criticism meant here. There may be apArthams in many lists, which are moderated by someone merely based on pride and prejudice. When such things needs to be clarified in mAlolan net based on our pUrvAchArya's tiruvuLLam, then the members of mAlOlan net are welcome to do so and they can feel free to write correct sidhdAntam with pramANams. But if the apArtham mail has appeared only in some other list(s) (irrespective of whether the author of that mail is a member of mAlOlan net or not) and if the mail has not appeared in mAlOlan net, then there is no need to mention the name of that author of that mail and there is no need to forward that entire mail in malolan net in rejoinder/critique. Merely, the summary or citation(s) from the apArthams of the other list(s) mail can be presented as pUrva-paksham or samSayam (whichever is applicable) and based on our pUrvAchArya+IBk-s tiruvuLLam and pramANams, the sidhdAntam can be written in mAlOlan net if a member wishes. If the apArtham has appeared in mAlOlan net itself from a member of MAlOlan net itself, then, in the rejoinder in mAlolan net, if the name of the author of apArtham mail is mentioned, it does not matter. Again, this is left to the member's wish who wants to write the rejoinder. Writing critiques on books and statements of scholars by scholars is different from writing critiques on mails from people who write merely based on some anumAnam(s) that too in certain list(s) where pride and prejudice is considered above everything. This is in the context of critiques on other mails only and does not cover the critiques on moderation policies of individuals of some other list(s). Also, I do not point out any individual or group or list or anything of that sort. This is a general note. Critiques on this mail are welcome. Let us have the discussions in mAlOlan net at least based on our pUrvAchArya's tiruvuLLam and pramANams and pramANAnuguNa-tarkam. In summary, for a proper model for reply/critique/rejoinder, one may refer to any reply from scholars who write with pramANa balam and appropriate yukti-balam in the archives of mAlOlan net.
