Dear SrI K.S.Venkataraghavan,

 

I request you to kindly read your addendum note again.

Please let us know the definition of the terms " non

material " , " spiritual " etc that you have used. Your words are not clear

and they are confusing. Further, the definitions that you have written

and its converses etc needs to be analyzed carefully. Please see nyAya-

sidhdAnjanam of swAmi dESika for the clear definitions of various

tatvams/concepts that you have named in your addendum. Also, it looks

like it is going out of context from the answer to the original question

raised by SrI MAlOlan Cadambi.

 

If time permits, I will write based on nyAya sidhdAnjanam

on the definitions of terms/concepts mentioned in your addendum.

 

I have a general appeal. While writing anything

(specifically in the case of atIndriya vishyam), please present the

appropriate pramANa balam in the first place. The tarka-balam is

surely important but it should not overtake. Also, the tarkam must

be pramANAnuguNam. vidanda and jalpa vAdams must be avoided. Mere

presentations of individual understandings without pramANam as

" defining tattvams " and as " siddhAntam " is looking very

odd at least in mAlOlan net. Mere anumAnam will be of no use in this

context.

 

Answering a question is different from defining tattvams and concluding

sidhdAntams. Similarly expressing doubt/understanding/anubhavam is a

different case. These are appreciated and encouraged always in the net.

 

One can write in authoritative manner regarding

tattva-hita-purushArthas as sidhdAntam provided that he has Aacharya

anugraham and good grip in SArIraka SAstrArtha nirNayam with sat-

sampradAyam through kAlakshEpams in the sannadi of VidwAns who are

well-versed in ubhaya-vEdAnta traditionally. I do not mean any particular

personality or person here but this is a general note.
