Actualy, there is. Dr Varadachary mentions this in his book " Agamas

and South Indian Vaishnavism " . The vadagalai form of the Urdhva

pundram is explicitly mentioned in the pAcharatra Agamam. However,

the thengalai form finds no mention.

 

There is a difference between the red and the yellow srichUrnam. The

red is actually a flame.

 

I have give my copy of the book to my friend, will write more about

how urdhva pundram is mentioned in the pAncharAtra agamam.

Dear members

 

adiyen would like to add a rejoinder rather an ammendment to adiyen's

posting earlier(August 28th 2002 and then one before )

on the form of thiruman.

 

adiyen mentioned in both the mails that

 

The base must be worn first.and the thiruman starts from the base

which is the tip of the nose.
