Dear Bhagavatas

Ways to get Ramanuja Sambhandam -

 

1. Perform service to Sriman Narayana not as a means of liberation but to

please Him. Do not worry about the upkeep of your body or Atma beyond the

extent required to service the Lord (upAyantra sambhandam arughai).

 

2. During the remaining time in this life, Listen to SriBhAshyam lectures,

learn and preach SriBhAshyam( irrukkum naal, SribhAshyathai vAsittu

vAsitthikkaiyum).

 

 

Now, Part 3

 

3. Learn Divyaprabhandam (devine outpourings) of Azhwars and teach

others(“mattithilanAgil 4000 kettu kettukaiyum”).

If not all 4000, at least try to learn the nithyAnusandhanam (a small

portion of 4000 that has been identified as minimum daily recital). If that

is not possible, at least learn Ramanuja Nootrandadhi (aka prapanna gayathri

). By preaching, Ramanuja implies that the parents should consider the

passing on the knowledge of divyaprabhandams to the younger generation as

their foremost responsibility. This brings out the foresight Ramanuja had,

anticipating a erosion of values and apparent lackadaisical attitude that is

very much prevalent today. If one is not able to learn the 4000

divyaprabhandams –

 

4. Help in upkeep of temples in holy sites and around. Provide for

sandlewood paste to anoint the thirumEni (devine body) of the Lord, flowers

to garland Him and serve Him food (“ugandarulina nilangalile amudupadi

satthupadi satthugaiyum”).

This is another instance of the numerous ones that brings out Ramanuja’s

foresight. He realized that the temples are not going to be kept properly

and which is the sorry state of most of the temples in the holy sites.

Visit the divyadesams as many times as possible and serve the temple and the

priests to the best of you’re abilities. Now, if you cannot do it –

 

5. Acquire a small place in ThiruNarayanapuram (and spend time offering

prayers to Chellappillai).”ThiruNarayanapuratthil oru kudil kattikondu

irrukkaiyum”

Have a small place, stay there for sometime and have darshan of

chellapillai. Even today, the serene atmosphere, the natural beauty in this

area is untouched. The ThiruvArAdhanam(divine ablutions and prayers) that

is performed is simply a treat to the eyes. After Achaymaniyam is offered,

droplets of water can be seen around the mouth of Ramanuja. That is the

level of affection and devotion with which the services are being offered to
