Srimathe Ramanujayanamaha!!!

Jeeyar Thiruvadigale saranam!!!

The purpose of Na:rada’s visit to Va:lmiki’s ashram

(hermitage) was to propagate SriRamayana in this

world. As he knew that the ‘para’ Bhagavan had come

down to the earth as nara SriRama and established

dharma and He was the only one who had all the

above mentioned ‘kalyana gunas’ that are enumerated

in the Upanishads, Na:rada is answering Va:lmiki’s

question glorifying the inherent Brahmathathvam and

the peripheral ‘Ramathathvam’.

He said, “The gunas you mentioned may be counted as

sixteen but there is a possibility that many more

gunas are concealed in each guna. It is outside our

capability to prove the scope of those gunas. They

are unlimited. It’s very difficult to find out.”

When Va:lmiki questioned as ‘sixteen’ , Na:rada's

reply as “bahavaha” (many), and when SriRama as a

human being is there with all these qualities (gunas);

his answer as “durlabhaha” shows that these gunas

refer to the ‘vedanthavedya-paramapurusha’ and

Naradamaharshi was very much aware of it.

One guna among them is ‘a:nanda’ and even this single

one cannot be described fully or its limits determined

properly.

‘Thaitthareeyo:panishad’ had started to determine the

extent of the Lord's 'a:nanda'in ‘A:nandavalli’ and

left concluding,

“yatho:va:cho: nivarthanthe: apra:pya manasa: saha”

‘Bhagavan’s a:nanda can neither be expressed in

words nor reached by ‘manas’(mind) . Hence Narada

said ‘durlabhaha’. As he understood the hidden vein

of Valmiki’s question he started telling about such

‘para’ and ‘nara’ ‘SriRama’.

“In Ikshwa:ku dynasty there is one famous person

named Rama, praised universally by one and all.

Ikshwa:ku was the eldest son of Vaivaswathamanuvu.

He worshipped SreeHari for long .The Lord blessed

him with the idol of SriRanganatha, the form

produced by His sankalpa and in which He presented

Himself. Since then the lord Ranganatha had been

worshipped by them. Hence that ‘vamsam’ was the most

suited for His incarnation and that is the reason

behind Narada’s mentioning of ‘Ikshwakuvamsa’.

The One who is the moolaka:rana for this universe

was born in someone’s vamsa. This is His ‘sousi:lyam’.

Valmiki referred this when he questioned, ‘gunava:n kaha’.

Na:rada answered, ‘Ikshwaku vamsa prabhavaha’.

The Lord is not known by a single name alone. The

Almighty has thousand divine names. One who has

innumerable names,has taken a single name,'Sri Rama’.

Vasishta maharshi meaningfully and perfectly named

him Rama as he gives a:nanda to all ,with his gunas. .

There are two ‘vyuthpatthys’

“ramayathi ithi ra:maha”

“ramanthe: asmin ithi ra:maha”

The yogis always keep experiencing the ‘sathya

jna:na:nanda swaru:pa’ and the ‘anantha’ the

“Parabrahma”.

So Rama means parabrahma. As He possesses ‘a:nanda’

and gives others a:nanda parabrahma is referred as

Rama. A human being should have this quality. A

human being should be pleasing to others because of

his qualities and he should give happiness to others

with his qualities. One who causes grief to others

and cannot be a source of solace is no human being

at all. Hence Rama is a ‘nara’.Every ‘nara’ should

be a Rama. To let us know that, when asked ‘who is

that ‘nara’, Na:rada answered as ‘Rama’. Rama is famous

all over the world because of his ‘gunas’.The

thathva that can be known like light and air is

only ‘brahmathathva’. There will be none who do not

know or who do not enjoy this. But they neither

attempt to behave so nor try to attain the same.

To be concluded.....

Jaisrimannarayana!!!
