Sri:mathe: Ramanujayanamaha!

Sri Jeeyar Thiruvadigale: Saranam!!

'Vi:ryam' is required for a human being too. Generally, the 'Vi:ryam'

one

shows on his enemies in the war field should not be shown on his friends

or

on those under his protection. Sri Rama was like the moon, delightful

in

nature and stature, towards them. Sri Rama removes the grief of the

people

who love him and bestows bliss on them just like the moon.

As Rama entered the Dandaka:ranya, the rishies were elated

as if seeing the rising moon.

'the:tham so:ma mivo:dyamtham drishtva:'

They forgot their grief at the ra:kshasa:s' hands. They, on the other

hand

felt very happy. Bhagavan also blesses only those with a feeling of

affection (pri:thy) who surrender to Him.

But Sri Rama's ire on those who trouble the people under his refuge

resembles the fierce inferno of the 'praLaya' time. He tolerates the

mistakes committed against Him but would never tolerate the offences

against the people who are under His refuge. He burns with fury like the

fierce fire. In the battle field Sri Rama was not angry when Ra:vana

troubled him with many arrows, but when his dearest devotee Hanuma was

wounded and his whole body was wet with blood,

'ko:pasya vaSa me:yiva:n' -Rama succumbed to anger.

This is Bhagava:n's attribute too. He would never pardon those who try

to

obliterate either His devotees or His 'Vibhu:thi'. He punishes them. He

finished Hiranya:ksha who stole the Earth from His Vibhu:thi and ended

HiraNyakaSipu who troubled His devotee Prahla:da. He was not upset

because

they accused Him and tried to kill Him. Mother Earth has great endurance

and

bears the pain how much ever she has been dug or ploughed or troubled .

Hence her name 'Kshama'. In this quality of 'kshama:guna' Sri Rama is

equal

to the Earth. How much ever He is troubled , he does not feel. He

patiently

bears it. When one's people are in danger , one should not run away. One

should be ready to sacrifice even one's life to protect them. This is

Bhagavan's attribute. This is Sri Rama's nature. This is humanity.

To be continued....

Jai Srimannarayana!!

Ramanujamma Mudumbai,

Ramanujadasi.
