Guest guest
Sri:mathe: Ramanujaya Namaha! Sri Jeeyar Thiruvadigale: Saranam!! It is said `rama:ma:Na: vane: thrayaha' - that all the three – Sitha, Rama and Lakshmana lived in the forest with happiness. Since Rama and Sitha spent their time plucking flowers and amused themselves in water sports, it was possible for them to be happy, but was it possible for Lakshmana who was engrossed in serving Rama and Sitha all the time to be happy ? While Sitha and Rama were enjoying their `vana sandarsana' and their companionship, Lakshmana considered himself fortunate to serve the blissful couple and was overjoyed for being able to serve them so that there was no hindrance to their joy. Thus all the three were happy. We all should have this realization. While Bhagavan enjoys the company of Sri Mahalakshmi, the `ji:va' should serve them appropriately and derive delight from their bliss. This is the `parama purushardham' for a ji:vathma. The happiness one gets from one's own experience is not true happiness. Real happiness lies in serving others, contributing to their happiness and deriving joy from their pleasure. Lakshmana had proved by his behaviour that mankind's goal should be to attain this kind of true happiness . While Rama was in Chitraku:ta along with Sitha and Lakshmana, Dasaratha suffered and died of `putraso:kam'. He died of a broken heart; grief struck due to SriRama's separation. Bharatha, the next in the line, capable and the fittest to take the reigns of the kingdom did not accept to rule the kingdom even though sage Vasishta and the other purohits forced him to. Bharatha was aware of his `swaru:pa'. He demonstrated to the world with his behaviour, how one with knowledge of `a:thma swaru:pa' ought to be. To be continued.... Jai Srimannarayana!!
