Those of you living in the San Francisco Bay area are blessed to have

the opportunity to learn about the philosophy of Bhagavad Sri Ramanuja

directly from a learned scholar...

SrI:

Sri S.M.S. Chari, a renowned scholar on Visishtadvaita and Sanatana

Dharma, is visiting the Bay Area this weekend (24th, 25th Aug. 2002).

To learn a bit more about his work, please see the end of this

announcement.

Four lectures have been organized over these two days.

Sri Chari will discuss the ethical teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and

the qualities of a devotee. He will also present the Gita's view

on the nature of reality as understood by the three major schools of

Vedanta (advaita of Sri SankarAchArya, vishishtAdvaita of Sri

RAmAnujAchArya, and dvaita of Sri MadhvAchArya).

The specific topic and emphasis of a particular lecture will be a

function of the interests expressed by the audience. As such, each

lecture will delve into a different aspect of the Gita. He will

address questions at the end of each lecture. Sri Chari is also

available to more informally discuss other issues with individuals.
