A wonderful message about the qualities of a devotee from HH Sri Chinna

Jeeyar Swamy, as shared with us by Sri Ch. Seshagiri -

Jai Sri:manna:ra:yana,

Jeeyar Thiruvadigale: Sharanam!

Devotees are the most loving people we can ever find.

We should aspire for their warm welcome, soothing

touch, completely satisfying words, their divine

vision and loving exchanges. These things purify us

instantly.

One is generally distressed with many kinds of

disturbing situations in one's life everyday. If

anyone is doing some favour to us, it is just out of

his own selfishness. His help is a part of his own

insufficiency. This is proven by his one's behavior

when we stop doing favours to him time to time. To win

the security and trust of people in this world, we

need to constantly reward them.

But with Vaishnava:s, it's an entirely different

thing. They are just there for everybody and forever.

They don't expect anything from you and are ready to

give all they can, for your happiness. Their heart is

so soft. They can't see anyone sufferring in this

world.

Their soothing embrace rids us of all fears and

anxieties. Their words protect us in times of great

danger.

Time is short. The knowledge to be known is

infinite. The opulences we possess won't last forever.

You should approach proper Acha:rya and surrender.
